New cl26 DDR5 RAM for Ryzen coming in January.

I have some white cl26 ram while my cl 30 black is in RMA. No overclocking the black ram just broke.

I'm hesitant to leave this new ram at 1.45v. seems excessive. Im running a x870e taichi lite. Pleased there are new chipset drivers and gpu drivers out. 25.12.1

The cl26 kits have a thermal pad on the pmic so the heatsinks should be more effective. 1.45v isn’t too high, could always get some airflow over the sticks if you’re worried.

Why 1.45v, I've had mine 1.35v stable for years

Been out of the PC game too long, can anyone nutshell the performance diff between like CL26-36? Anything noticeable outside of benchmarks

With a 3D chip your not going to notice anything to be honest, best bet is to just buy the cheapest kit you can find with SK-Hynix IC as they tend to overclock amazingly well and am happy to say not only does OcUK have the cheapest 32G DDR5 kits in the UK, even better they are SK-Hynix IC and will often run at very aggressive timings:

  • SKU: MEM-KLV-07035
  • EAN: 4895194968535
  • MPN: KD5AGU880-56K300L

KD5AGU880-56K300L, 5600MHz RAM Speed, CAS 30-36-36-88 Timings, 1.25v UDIMM.

£350 (incl. VAT)
£290 (incl. VAT)

Hard to beat the above two SKU's from a performance aspect and overclocking ability.
They remind me of the Samsung Green DIMM's back in the day. :)

Had some 6000Mhz C26 stuff pre-ordered from somewhere that I expected to get cancelled eventually that actually shipped out today, for a very reasonable piece too.

Little out the loop, but my understanding is that I'm more likely to see benefits on a Ryzen system? Currently have a 13600k on DDR4 so not sure if worth upgrading that or jumping straight to AM5.

No idea about intel. AMD side the x3d chips for gaming are not overly sensitive to RAM speed and latency. If you ordered a non x3d part then they would be more sensitive.

I have run the G.Skill 6000cl26 with AMD and Intel z790 and z890.
Probably got the most benefit z890 with 9066MT/s, z790 was 8400MT/s
