Quite jealous, picked up a imported Dunston xmid last year but this was also on the list.

Lovely tents.

I was very tempted by the xmid (it's so light!) but I was advised it might not be strong enough for mountain tops.
The weather has been so wet here I haven't managed to get it out yet. Really hoping this grim wet and grey weather breaks soon.

The kuiu storm star was too heavy.

I considered a couple of other tunnel tents.
I really like how the scarp has 2 entrances. So if you're on a mountain top you can look out over the edge but also get out the other side. Or at sunset/rise.

Looking forward to trying it out

The worse the weather, the better the camping.

Ive not actually used tge mid in anything too wild yet. But my Chinese lanshan held up in that storm we had a couple of years ago so im not too worried.

I'm thinking about a lanshan or similar for summer. I use trekking poles anyway.
That's my January task. Find a ultralight summer tent.

For summer I think xmid is overkill.

Is the Chinese (3fl lanshan or something?) worth getting?

Mines managed a few nights in a storm, so its hard to knock it. I had the lanshan pro 1 person got it for £80. Though it was smashing me in the face, but I was impressed it stood up all night.

It also done some peak camping with it.

For a 500~gram tent its pretty good. The only real issue i had was camping under zero and my pole collapsed enough to not allow any airflow, whilst eating outside, and condensation built up then froze so much I may aswell slept in an igloo.

I've been tempted by the Terra Nova Pioneer Lite 2 at 1.5kg for a 1.5 man tent. Not sure it can cope with mountain tops but the previous version and it's sibling the Helm seems to be quite robust; not that I need mountain top ability though. I like the twin entrances (single porch though). I'd have pulled the trigger by now if it were a little cheaper.

nice - so did you get reduced import duty ? they packaged it in sub £135 morsels.

( featherlight weight is half my quasar 4s, which can split'ish between 2 peoples packs )
They just under declared the value!
Shame it was even lower.

Tax/import duty is crazy really. I assumed with the duty I paid it was nearly full price declared!

The terra nova quasar?

So you should absolutely pay whatever duties are applicable.

Yes I looked at

-Fjallraven abisko 1
-TN pioneer lite 2
-TN laser compact AS
-TN southern cross 1
-Tarptent arc dome 1
-Tarptent skarp 1

I settled on the tarptent scarp 1 as it was so light in its lightest form (no crossing poles)

But I have to say it was very hard to decide. Price was not a factor. They are all close enough on price it didn't matter.

Casio keeps bringing out awesome looking watches. I though about getting one recently but I would really miss being able to tell my smart watch to make reminders for me as I rely so heavily on them to remember things

My old coiled hose gave up the ghost after a measly twenty odd years. Rather suspect this one won't last anywhere near as long, but then it was only twenty sobs!!

I normally pay twenty sobs just for the end connectors :(

But i use the high flow ones which of cause cost more https://www.sealey.co.uk/air-power-accessories/couplings-adaptors/european-couplings/
But i don't really need the high flow ones anymore as i use cordless battery impact wrenches these days and not air ones.

It came with XF connectors, so I did spend £11.08 on a pair of Airflow fittings as that's what the rest of my gear uses. Still dirt cheap though
