Post Your Home Cine & HiFi Kit...

All set up running very well now. This sub has such a big impact on the whole listening experience, i simply must get another S812 to pair with it.
The impact it has is quite stunning. It gives the sound so much more body, soundstage, sharpness and attack. I would never have believed it unless i had heard it myself.
The Sopra N2's were already an eyeopener, the Rel just takes things to another level.

Now that's sweet ass... loving those speakers man, absolutely gorgeous!!! What you powering those badboys with?

Full system from the bottom up is:
Bottom left: Naim Napsc to power the balance and volume posts on the preamp.
Bottom right: Balanced power supply, this powers everything in the stack.
Next up are 2 HiCap DR's, these power the left and right analogue stages of the preamp. Sat on top of them is the power supply for the record deck.
Next up is the Naim Nap 250 DR poweramp.
Next up is the Hegel Viking CD player.
Next up is the Naim Nac 282 preamp. Sat on the left of the preamp is a Michael Fidler Spartan 30 headphone amp and to the right of that is a Michael Fidler MC Pro phono stage.
Next up is a Michell Orbe SE record deck with an SME V arm and Dynavector DV-20x2 cartridge.
All power cables are Vertere redline, as are all interconnects.
Speaker cables are Chord Epic x, with the speakers being Focal Sopra N2 along with a Rel S812 subwoofer.

Probably the best setup quality wise I've seen from a "normal" person... wow, that's incredible

Awesome, absolutely awesome!

I'm glad you guys like it, i certainly do. Most was actually bought second hand, speakers, sub, power supplies, poweramp and preamp. So not quite the price of house lol.
It's also not quite end game yet. I am on the lookout for another S812 sub and i will replace the 250 DR with a 300 DR when the prices drop low enough.

What make is the Balanced power unit, and what do you think of it.

What are your thoughts on the Vertere redline power cables.

I'm using all Russ Andrews power conditioning ,power blocks here along with his power cables, these have made quite an improvement,, but I always wonder how other makes / approaches compare.

I Use an Airlink CBS3000UKMP - Conditioning Balanced Power Supply. Where i live, the mains voltage is normally around 250v and this Airlink supply has 3 taps for voltage, 230v, 240v and 250v.
Tapping it to right voltage stops hum in the balanced supply itself as well as all the Naim toroidal transformers. The reason for using the balanced supply is very simple, it supplies clean mains power. By it's very nature it's impossible for anything else in the house to put any "noise" into my hifi gear.
I was also using Russ Andrews power cables for many years, but when i bought the Hegel Viking my dealer suggested i try the Vertere Redline on loan. It was a complete revelation, the dynamics, punch, soundstage, detail and whole musicality just opened up. I was an instant convert. In fact so much so that i simply had to try the Vertere interconnects. I would never go back now.

Balanced power supplies have always interested me, especially how they cancel noise. Not tried one yet, but I do wonder how they’d stack up against my setup. I’m lucky in that my mains is bang on 240V. I’ve heard you can even ask the power company to drop it a bit if needed.

I’m using Russ Andrews for all my conditioning, so it’s all passive. Ultra-Purifiers for noise above 5kHz, Zapperators for WiFi / cell-tower noise above 1GHz, plus clamping for micro-spikes over 350V. Then everything runs through low-impedance RA PowerBlocks. I’ve had RA power cables from 4TC up to 12TC; the main kit is on 12TC Signature PowerKords. As you go up the range, they do genuinely improve. I’ve also got a mix of gold, silver and rhodium Wattgate IECs, and the different plating changes the sound. Silver / Rhodium plating has a tighter sound that I find better for source gear, the copper / gold plating sounds warmer and I prefer for amplifiers.

I’ve basically got two full chains like this, one for the main Hi-Fi and one for the Adam S2X monitors. Like you this stuff is expensive, so mostly I buy pre-owned gear.

My Fyne Audio speakers have a 5th grounding terminal, so I ground them back to the amp. It drops a bit of distortion and tightens the bass by keeping RF out of the amp’s output stage.

Speaker cables are Kimber 8TC now (used to use 4VS, but 8TC was a nice step up). No Russ Andrews interconnects though, on the Hi-Fi I use Van den Hul The First Ultimate MkII, and AudioQuest Mackenzie XLRs on the Adams.

Same experience as you with conditioning, more musical, better dynamics, more detail and that lovely 'black' background. Before I did all this, it always sounded better after midnight when the mains was cleaner, now it’s consistent all day.

A balanced Power supply doesn't need to stack against your setup, because if you used one, you wouldn't need any of the conditioning you are currently using. One thing though that is very important when using a balanced power supply, is never ever plug a SMPS into it because all it will do is pollute the clean power the supply that has just been produced. Using well shielded power cables from the supply to sources/Amp is also a must. Unshielded cables defeat everything otherwise.

I’m using an Audiolab 9000A with Monitor Audio GS20 speakers, SVS SB1000 Pro sub and a Squeezebox Touch with EDO as a streamer (for NAS FLACs, Spotify, Tidal etc). I’ve also got a Rega Planar 3 RS turntable. I’ve got a Sony MDS-JE520 minidisc deck attached, a Sony CDP-XB930 Cd Player, a Sony DTC-ZE700 DAT recorder, and a Sony TXD-RE210 CD/Cassette deck. Finally I’ve got an old 10-band Pioneer GR-777 equaliser/spectrum analyser for nice dancing lights.

The second Rel S812 arrived yesterday (earlier then i thought it would). The Isoaustics Bordeaux feet for it won't arrive until Monday though.
I would say things now sound totally "complete", in other words nothing is missing sound wise. I will have to find a permanent solution to powering the left sub though, it can't stay as it is in the pic.

This sounds pretty good now.
Its a Innuos Zenith 3 with the Phoenix USB reclocker
Chord TT2 and Mscaler
Naim 552\500 into Naim SL2 speakers, the SL2's have Avondale crossovers which make a huge difference.
All on Naim Fraim, with Chord S6 powerblock and various Witch Hat Morgana cables.
There's a funky power Plixir supply that runs both of the Chord boxes and a English Audio 8 switch with a Farad Super 3 powering that.
Everything is streamed from a Synology NAS.
I've literally never heard anything else that sounds this good. There is no background noise whatsoever.
I might get a Chord Dave this year second hand...
