Divinity - Larian Studios next game!

Anyone think that trailer is abit much ?:cry: As in, what is it trying to achieve? I guess signalling it will be a very dark adult game 18+ ? Otherwise can’t think why they’d make it so gruesome! lol

i did think the trailer was a mit over the top, and not very appropriate for family entertainment.
it sets the tone that its going to be darker and adult themed..
it sort of put me of the game in that regards.

The dark tone/theme has me interested, there's been far too many sparkle and rainbows/unicorn vomit colour palette fantasy games over the past few years.

My only concern is that I really don't get on with Larian's turn based combat, I know I'm very much against the grain here but it bores me to tears. I usually love turn based games too, but for some reason I do not get on with it in any of their releases. I don't find it difficult by any means, if anything quite the opposite, I can't even accurately place a finger on it honestly, it just flat out bores me.

I mean, the trailer literally starts with an "For adult audiences only" disclaimer.

I like the trailer and it inspired me to look into Divinity 2 original sin, I'm considering either getting it or maybe replaying Baldurs gate 3 again and will keep an eye on this game. I liked the dark nature and sort of reminded me of the Hellblade games

Loved DOS2, more so then BG3. I much preferred how your actions worked. Wasn't so keen on everything bursting into flames, though!

This'll be a day1 for me, or possibly early access.

Just watched the trailer to this, wow that’s an entrance. Never played the previous games, is it worth playing them before this one? There are so many RPG games i want to play and don’t have enough time to play them all.

Anybody have any tips for someone who wants to play these games but hates party management? I just want to control my one character.

DoS 1 your stuck with minimum 2 characters, however, DoS 2 is definately possible as a solo character, its how i prefer it also and ive done multiple playthroughs like that, current one is even non-Lone-Wolf. it takes a little cheesing and picking your fights (once you know them) buts its doable and fun howefer will obviously be more difficult if youve not played the game before and dont know what to expect.

a good tip is shop around for items once you have multiple vendors. on level up save and go to a vendor and check their items, dont find anything you like? reload and go to a different vendor. do it in different orders, check a second vendor if theres nothing on any of the first ones before reloading etc too, time consuming but can lead to some OP/ really good items.

teleport gloves will be your best friend

So, no release date or anything, right? 2030? 2031?
I find game announcements utterly hilarious these days. Does nothing to build hype because you know it’s so far down the road.

The ES6 announcement several thousand years ago is a good example.

Same with Star Wars Fate of the old republic, announcing it 6 years before its eta release date

So many developers are doing this now that I'm convinced it has something to do with funding- like if their announcement trailer gets lots of views they can get a bigger loan to work on the game so it incentivises announcing games many years before they come out

Didn’t know that was possible, thanks.
if you dont have any one to play with, try posting up in the forum and see who bits if your happy playing with people you dont know.

we dont have a sub forum for it yet looking for people to play games with.
Depending on details i might be up for it, but it could be a long game for a group
