I don't know what version of supergirl this one is based off, but as I said, supergirl isn't just a gender swapped superman despite what the original film did with the character way back, she's a character that was a generally "normal" girl who presumably liked to have fun with friends, then her world literally fell apart around her and she appears to have fallen off the tracks and into the drink, a bit more depth to it than "i'm a prettier superman, with boobs".
She's not the "all American hero", she wasn't raised with those powers and taught to be the American ideal, she is/has been in mourning and coping badly with it in a way that is quite human.
You can't have the fictional female character with super powers have them anything likes *checks notes* the fictional male character with super powers that she is meant to be similar to (or in this case IIRC closely related to), it's highly unrealisticI didn’t post at the time but I did also ‘lol’ - I don’t know much about comics but if there’s ANYONE that I’d expect to be a champion of ‘girls can do it’ then it’s probably a character called Supergirl.
And I love the idea of this ‘girl bossing’ being triggering, existing as a spin off of the far more popular, pretty much unbeatable and god-like historic male icon, Superman
they certainly can't have the sort of attitude and quips you'd normally see and enjoy in the male version.
unless I watched a different video to you, the dog peed on a newspaper with a superman headline, nothing direspectful about a dog peeing on some paper.
I thought that was apt for this new incarnation of superman and how bad the film was.
The superman film was awful. They spent the whole film belittling the character, so I guess the dog pee scene is no surprise.
