Tainted Grail: the Fall of Avalon

I’m about 30 hours in. Story is pretty good. I like how it rips mechanics from some of the best rpg’s out there. Cooking, upgrading items and combat feels familiar. That ghostly monster at night that stalks you ***** me right up.

Really rate this game a lot. It lacks a little something to round it off. Maybe mob variety or just the bleakness of it all. All in all though don't let this stop you from giving it a good go as this kind of game deserves to be supported.

The story telling is superb and some of the quests / found areas are just spectacular. Not had as many "Oh Wow" bits maybe since Morrowind which is saying something.

A totally different (for me) take on Arthurian lore and legend but so many recognisable things in particular the loyalty of knights to lost causes and mistaken beliefs.

I just bought this on Steam along with the new DLC, the 30% off twisted my arm - installing now. I'm a huge Elder Scrolls junkie, I got in right at the start with Arena, so I'm looking forward to this, seems right up my street :)

So am I..

But I don't see the hype over this game! I played throughout most of the first chapter and it was a slog. The game looks like ass even on max, character models are ass and it runs very badly. 100fps+ felt like 50

Again it feels like a Temu version of Skyrim.

Played the demo today. The most off-putting bit was how dated the look and feel were. It would look good in 2003, but no later. Might still give the full game a go though.

Yep that's what put me off with the full game.. It was so dated it felt like it was released many years before Skyrim

I just bought the proper thing. Only about £25 from Steam IIRC. Very very derivative, but OK so far. But you spend half the time working out which games they stole which bits from.
