Sim racers - what are you running?

What’s my shopping list for a rig then? Already got moza r5. Good enough.
Recently went to simplyrace and the lad an I want the study to be a sim room lol

Need a seat which can move forward and back as he is only short.

Also want triple screen.

What’s a decent mid range setup?

I've been gaming on a Playseat Trophy with Logitech G Pro wheel and pedals on GT7. Recently started playing Le Mans Ultimate on PC, watched one too many YouTube videos and ordered a GT Omega Prime rig and free standing triple monitor stand. The GT Omega Prime is absolutely solid and massive overkill for me I only run me wheel around 5-8Nm but it gives me room to upgrade, I was watching Dan Suzuki's video on the VNM Extreme 32Nm wheel base the other night :D

I can definitely recommend GT Omega for a cockpit and monitor stand, all my items arrived quickly and we're well packaged. Instructions were easy to follow, just be aware that building an aluminium cockpit is time consuming building then adjusting to your individual body and style of driving. The GT Omega seats do come with sliders and you can also get a pedal plate with sliders if you need to accommodate a everyone from a child to a giant. I can also recommend GT Omegas quick monitor mounts if going triples, make setting up and aligning 3 monitors a hell of a lot easier.

Think this is probably the best place to share this. George, aka UKOG is streaming the LFM Nords 24h race.

Although the twist is that he’s been doing it completely solo! Just over two hours to go and he’s running in P1 by a comfortable margin. He’s doing a fundraiser for his daughter. Absolutely amazing performance so far, just over two hours to go.

Anyone using an OLED VR headset?

I have been using a Reverb G2 but know it is now behind the curve so keen to upgrade to an OLED headset.

Now that is quite and upgrade! DD is incredible when you first switch over.
For sure. However I actually purchased a PXN VD10 first (12nm peak) just to give it a try. The wheelbase was fantastic for the money, but the wheel was poor quality/ergonomics.

So I decided to return that, and pull the trigger on the VRS wheelbase as a sort of wheelbase for life jobbie.
At the full 20Nm? Nice :D

Been looking at VRS DFP15 and DFP20, interested to try out there new gen FFB.
Yeah, the full 20nm, with the R295 wheel.

After not picking it up previously during a sale, I decided I'd maybe just go for the uDFP20 at 12nm, however since they brought out their 15nm base they don't seem to offer it at 12nm out of the box.

I've not actually got it set up yet because I forgot to buy a front mount for it, doh.

The R295 was the wheel I wanted with the base. Please let us know how you find it.

Pulled the trigger today on the Moza R12 V2, did look a bunch at the Simmagic stuff and it was tempting but it boiled down mostly to cost and although the simmagic BF prices aren't available until next week the Moza ones came out today and saved me ~£70 for the Base + KS wheel, and also planning to pick up a round wheel too.

Got the Moza R12 today, annoyingly DHL decided to only deliver 2 of the 3 packages today which means I'm still missing the KS Wheel and SGP Shifter... On the plus side I'd already splurged on an RS V2 wheel from Argos so I could use nectar points and that arrived via DPD before the DHL delivery so all good :D

Tried ACC and AC Rally so far, With ACC I need to play around with some settings, there's a lot of good stuff but it feels like it could be tweaked/improved, mainly what I think is bumps in the surface feels overdone but definitely feeling a whole lot more in general. AC Rally was actually pretty decent, again that extra fidelity makes a huge difference over the Logitech G25.

Feels to an extent like I need to relearn things as it's just so much more of everything :p

Finally got the 3rd parcel today so the shifter and the KS wheel, weirdly the KS wheel packaging looks like it's been updated as it's not the 'usual' Moza bunch of foam/plastics but instead a cardboard insert for the wheel so that was nice to see, not tried the wheel yet but feels nice so looking forward to it, of course I go on holiday tomorrow for a week!

Kinda expected it but the shifter doesn't bolt to the bit on the GT Omega Wheel Stand Pro, so once I get back I'll get out the trusty drill and fix that, want to have both the shifter and handbrake mounted but shouldn't be too hard.

Been doing a bit with the R12 in the mean time, been working on the ACC career and before getting it I'd qualified for the Misano race early on but had the 2 hour long races to do. Did a bit of tweaking of the settings and got something that felt reasonable then jumped into the first race which was going fine with some reasonably lap times, bit better than my qualifying time which had been my PB but only ~0.4s better but obviously now I have all the buttons so actually using manual pit limited and guess who forgot to engage it and got a penalty for it, d'oh. Anyway, second race went much better and more importantly made a step change with the lap times and gained about 1.5s more over my qualifying PB. Now obviously that's not really the wheel per se, especially as I'd changed my brake pedal setup (it was setup non-linear for some reason :p), but I can definitely feel the grip/ffb more through the wheel which I think helped a bunch in figuring out how to improve if that makes sense...

Enjoying it, of course I'm hardly like to spend that much money and come on here and say it was a huge mistake am I

Also, forgot to say earlier (and just confirmed on the KS wheel) one of the things that appealed to me and about Simmagic/I wasn't sure about with Moza was that Simmagic obviously supports Simhub for some/'most' of the wheels and the reviews I found of the Moza stuff did complain about the lack of that along with the lack of customisation in the Pit House software, especially with button colours etc.

I was thinking it would be nice to have say a pit limiter button that changed colour/flashed when the limiter was actually engaged, I knew Simhub and hence Simmagic could do it but thought I wouldn't be able to do it with Moza but decided that was a 'nice to have' and I'd live without but it turns out it's entirely possible on Moza rims with Pit House...

Basically any 'Telemetry' item (there's a list, not checked it exhaustively but it has stuff like wheel spin/locked, tc active, tc on, abs active etc) can be configured to do 'something' with any of the RGB LEDs. It can be a bit clunky for example to flash the outer 3 LEDs of the rev counter leds when the TC is active requires 2 entries as far as I can tell, one for the left 3 and one for the right 3, but it works... And indeed I now have a Pit Limiter button that flashes red/blue (customisable obviously) when the Pit Limiter is engaged. Utterly pointless but utterly glorious :D

On that note, it has to be stated, what an incredible piece of software simhub is. Runs my bass shakers, pedal haptics and dash displays. Really easy to use, loads of features, works amazingly well and is very cheap for all the features.
Yeh same.
I haven't used it for wheel and light customisation, but did everything Else is fantastic and they are always updating it

Hey all, dipping my toes into sim racing, I grabbed a Moza R3 set for my xbox at a bargain price and already planning on replacing the wheelbase for something a little stronger.

However looking for advice/thoughts on cockpits, anyone here run a setup on just a wheel stand type (e.g Nitro Concepts C-Racer), if so how do you find it?

Alternatively can anyone recommend a decent compact full-size cockpit with allows for a sliding seat position?
