Upgrading from a 3070, 4080s? VR gaming

I have a Zotac 4070ti and use it mainly for VR sim gaming, using a quest 3. Been rock solid for the years i've owned it.. can't run everything at full settings, but enough to look stunning to me ;)

rocking a 9070xt. coming from nvida more than happy. I've had no issues so far. can be had for £555.. As @Tetras said earlier though..no idea how it handles vr
Yah VR is the issue. I just want the card to work out the box with a decent OC and cooling profile on it. I don't want to arse around with drivers, 3rd party fixes (like optiscaler) and anything else that doesn't involve me simply hitting the Connect + Play buttons.

if you're set on 5070ti, Ventus at £750 is expensive as @mickyflinn pointed out, seeing as it's meant to be MSI basic gpu offering. if you don't like the palit, I'd rather get the Zotac. at least you get 5years warranty and think rma is uk based...quick check..based in bracknell, a nice 20min drive from uk home...that pretty much nails it for me...if i go back to nvidia, going zotac...I can drop the card off if it ever fails
The cheaper Zotacs are out of stock unfortunately. Unless there is no difference between the regular card and SFF in terms of cooling capacity? The 5 year warranty is a big sell.

Jamaican Herb ?
If you're referring to a particular plant you expect from a stereotypical Rasta man then no lol.

I have 3 Meyer Lemon trees, a couple large Monsteras and various smaller plants. The heat in the room mostly comes from the spectrum lights for the lemon trees which come on for 12 hours a day between 7pm and 7am, the plants are "dormant" so there is a good 3-4 hour period at night where I will be gaming under what is effectively the sun.

Thanks for the advice. I know some folks were wanting me to give AMD a fair shot but I decided to go with a 5070ti instead. So far so good, not had time to get any races in yet but I've got the card tuned in with a stable OC and it's night and day compared to the 3070 even in games like Deep Rock Galactic where I would get 144FPS and 80c, now I'm 144FPS with 55-60c with barely audible fans.

Which model did you get?
Zotac GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Solid SFF 16GB GDDR7 Graphics Card.

900mV @2992mhz (could prob go higher but whatever), +2000mhz on memory. Custom fan curve has fans no higher than 50%. Card doesn't seem to be throttling, haven't checked power draw so probably should, I suspect it's in the 250w area given the profiles similarities to others found online. Overall I am pretty happy with it, I'm running near maxed out settings in iRacing with a few high impact/use settings off (such as SSR and crowds) that gives a stable 90FPS with a full field. I am still having to tweak Assetto Corsa, I mostly drift and particles and smoke effects are really taxing.

I will say that I do think my CPU is bottlenecking the card in certain situations, if I load up beam.ng and slap a ton of AI vehicles in the map and keep the graphics down so I can get 60FPS the GPU usage drops and the CPU usage pegs at 99%. If I increase the graphics quality the GPU usage pegs and the CPU calms down a bit but the frame rate is awful, 45 average (VR nightmare). Perhaps beam.ng isn't the best example as it's a pretty rough game in VR as it is. I'm not even sure how I would confirm if it's causing an issue elsewhere, I have some pretty large Satisfactory factories but that game ran smooth on the 3070 and is entirely CPU bound once you get to a certain point (have to turn off autosave as it freezes the game for seconds at a time).

I'll probably not fret about it and just enjoy what I have, not like I'm moving to an AM5 board thanks to RAM prices.
