Yikes
What do they expect somebody to use in this?
I don't see the point in offering upgrade longevity when it realistically won't support more than a low-end i5.

I wonder if motherboard manufacturers get hit by knock on effects we'll see boards appear that can run DDR4?
They've done it for LGA1700 but I've no idea if it's even architecturally possible for any others.
AFAIK there's only the AsRock at the moment

This new motherboard has DDR4 and DDR5 RAM support, and it took an AI-pricing surge for that to finally become a thing
This motherboard has 6 DIMM slots for your RAM, and I hope that becomes a more widespread design pointwww.gamesradar.com

Certainly aimed for the budget consumer but props to them.
During the DDR2/3 switchover I had a board that could take both.
The Asrock N68C-S UCC. Had one of those myself.
