Arriving today before 3:20pm, wow, ok I ordered at 6:30am yesterday but still, after Very's debacle of sending a day one release of Cod Infinite War 2-3 weeks late I'm completely surprised lol
I was really amazed at how quick Very UK shipped my orders

Many of my amazon orders have taken a week or longer just to be despatched..
I really feel amazon has got so big they can't handle the amount of orders they're getting.

Right now i got multi items i ordered on amazon on the 14th & 15th and they still haven't even been despatched yet.

They can be really hit or miss but they've definitely improved in the last few years. The only downside I've found is that they're pretty set on their courier choice (pretty much always Yodel) and in our area Yodel is a real cowboy courier service.

I would happily pay a little more to have DPD or UPS - or at least have an option.

Valid point, looking at my use time and case, I think I'll skip. Play more on the PC currently.
It's not a bad decision. Ultimately I spend more time on my PC or Switch 2 these days than I do my Series X or PS5 Pro, BUT its all dependent on the games you are wanting to play.
Ive got a big PS4 and PS5 library and the psn sub, so for me, as I got a good deal about a year ago, it was worth it for me, because it means I'll be able to experience those games in as best a manner as possible, similar to how Im now enjoying the 'pro experience' with Switch 1 games on Switch 2.

At the time I had enough disposable income around to make it work, but can certainly understand leaving it if it'd mean sacrifices elsewhere.

The Alan Wake 2 experience in PS5 Pro quality mode on the 65" 4k OLED with proper AV surround sound and sub was almost enough to justify the asking price though, despite the 30fps lock it looked and ran fantastically, far superior to a base PS5, and was a fantastic media experience all around.

About the only thing I don't have is adaptive ambient lighting lol

Then yes you're definately well overdue for a TV and sound system upgrade.
Not even just for the jump to 4k, but OLED stomps all over the colour, blacks and motion clarity of an older set. Its a shame you just missed black friday as there were some really nice OLED details, but well worth the upgrade to a higher end TV and a proper surround setup!

Once you have the good stuff it's hard to go back!

Yeah I moved over too OLED in 21 with a LG CX and don't think, aside from maybe Micro LED, I could go back for my main display, it isn't even just the inky blacks it's the motion clarity

Although that does have its downsides with 30fps gaming

And that is what (well done) motion blur is meant to help with, not auto enabling it on high end pc games haha

It was surprisingly well done with Alan Wake 2, although on some games its just bad. It helped AW2 is a very reliable locked 30fps in quality mode and not all over the place.

It's currently hooked up to a Sony AV amp and wharfdale 5.1 setup. I'm fairly happy with the audio although have been eyeing up a schiit gunnr for headphones use.

I think TV upgrade would be a better option for me currently.

Ok so your sound system is not the priority as thats already at least above average, especially if the amp is new enough to support the latest standards and has enough oomph. Your TV is definately the weak point!

Saying that, I've had this amp a good while now so may need an update soon enough too. More priorities over a PS5 upgrade I would say then!

Yeah it drives me crazy on PC that motion blur, film grain (I know this is a preference thing) and chromatic aberration are always on by default and sometimes need ini tweaks to get rid off

Same for sharpening tbh, few games have a forced sharpening affect which is kinda meh when used with DLSS4 or even more so DLAA, just becomes oversharpened

To be honest, I would probably be better off updating my TVs, every TV in the house is 1080p still.
I find it hard to believe my older 4k OLED (2018) is over 7 years old already :(. I can still remember going to pick it up as if it was only a few months ago

It totally crazy how quick time seems to go as you get older & older

Thinking back, I bought the TV and sound system when I had my flat. They must be 12 years old by now.

It been wanting to swap to a soundbar for a few years now but just hadn't had around £1,500 spare for the one i want

Tell me about it, pretty sure this year has only been six weeks long.

Still going strong with a Panasonic plasma with my PS5 and my PC is using my son's old 27" IPS TV that we replaced due to awful glow on the right side that blocks any dark scenes. Made night driving in Euro Truck Sim 2 interesting when I started playing it again this week.

My 50" 1080p pioneer plasma was being used in other rooms in the house from 2008 till 2022 (it PSU packed up in the end)

They don't die easy do they. One bonus is it acts as an additional heater this weather. Not used so much in the heatwaves though.

I might be in a position to look at getting a LG 42" OLED next year, when I clear out some stuff. It's that or a shed . Not using the PS5 for games as much at the mo but it would be nice.

I hope people are buying additional PS5s otherwise where have you been for the past 5 years?!

Anyone tempted by Flight Sim 2024? Wasn’t aware it was even coming to the PlayStation. Loved it back in the day and if there is a ‘career’ mode im very tempted.
