BBC losing the rights of the Commonwealth games, which it's had since 1954, to TNT sports.

The games struggled for viewership when it was covered for free now that it'll (probably) be behind a paywall, it's truly dead.

I dont understand this decision by TNT unless they picked them up for a song because the beeb didnt want the hassle anymore. This is a reduced sports version of the games and I just dont see people wanting to see this enough to sign up for a month's sub. My son just cancelled his sub with them because of the England cricket disaster and I was a bit shocked to find it cost him £31 to see England lose the Ashes in 10 days. But leaving cricket aside, who is going to stump £30+ to watch the Commonwealth games for 10 days?
That's ignoring the onvious 99% reduction in viewship that the games will enjoy by moving from FTA tv to a behind a relatively expensive paywall. It's baffling all round unless I am missing something?
