Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow

Am I the only one that actually liked the new superman movie  I think they nailed it well, solved the whole fortress of solitude being empty. Beast actor done Lex well. They introduced the pre justice league early but not full on giving space for it and those existing members nailed their roles well, maybe hawkgirl not so much.

Finally got cousin and Superman in an actual scene together that wasn't CGI and 50 years too late.

Kryto dog was overdone though.

Nothings going to top Reeves but he was born for that role.

You've just listed everything i hated about the movie:

Fortress - robots? FFS.

Lex actor - this Lex sucked.

Pre-Justice League - Guy and Hawkgirl were lame, was Hawkgirl even needed? Mr Terrific was cool though.

I always found the empty fortress silly, at least most of the animation dc stuff had robots and caretakers. I suppose Man of steel had the robots also which was headed in the right direction.

Felt Nicholas Hoult did very well, certainly looked the part more so compared to Jesse Eisenberg or spacey. Michael Rosenbaum still my fav overall.

Guy was awesome, looked stupid with that hair cut but delivered the comedy well and that is his trademark hair style:)

Overall this was the first superman movie in 50 years that fixed many the flaws as said above and it done it in one single movie.

Guy was great!

Nathan Fillion nailed it, but then he is an underrated actor.

If you watch peacemaker season 2, they gave hawkgirl and guy some extra scenes and they both work so well. I really do hope Guy gardener is more shown in the new green lanterns tv series since he loves to wind up hal jordon.

Mr terrific that guy could frankly have his own series, he was that cool.

I do need to watch that, it's on my list

You sure about that?

Surely that should have been like a jet wash, not a pathetic trickle?

I'm actually interested in seeing it, I liked Superman a lot more than most of the other superhero movies in the last few years, and much more than pretty much all of DC's output post Batman Trilogy/The Batman and pre gunnn.
The trailer has what is it, about 45 seconds of footage from what will be at a guess a 2 hour film, and it reminds of at least one of the comic versions of supergirl who was IIRC pretty messed up for a while by what had happened - Superman grew up with a family and knowing what happened to his home planet as basically history, supergirl (or this version of her) basically went from a normal girl on Krypton to seeing it destroyed along with pretty much everyone and everything she'd known, that's almost always going to mess someone up to some degree.

I remember people getting really upset over the stills and teaser for superman a year or so back.

I'm actually more likely to go see this at the cinema than the next marvel movie, which is a huge turnaround from when Snyder was in charge and it felt like everything was relentlessly grim and shot by candlelight;). I have nothing against dark/grim storylines (if I did, i'd have to change probably half my favourite books and films ;)), but some humour/light hearted moments not only make it more enjoyable, but push how grim it actually is, and a teen girl/early 20's who has lost everything is potentially pretty dark.

I actually quite like superman movies. I prefer DC to marvel in general. They aren't all good for sure.
Main marvel I like are early ones. And GotG.

I may give this a watch on streaming.

Looks very Guardians of The Galaxy. I'm in!

This. If that's the vibe it's going for I will watch.
Not keen on that actress though.
Doesn't seem to fit the role. Actually seems a bit mi's cast in the trailer (just watched). Thought seemed like she's reading a script. Not in the role.

I think that is what put the planet off Milly alcock since she looks nothing like what the former supergirl's have looked like which are former blonde models. Doesn't help Melissa Benoists supergirl series ran for I think 5 years.

But after that initial yuck phase, I think I know what direction Gunn is going with the new supergirl. It has to be a different version, a more bad ass version. Hopefully it has plenty of comedy.

FTFY

What’s the point? We know they can be easily beaten up by button mashing a PS2 controller as they showed in that utterly god awful first film.
