ASUS PG27AQWP-W - 4th Gen Tandem OLED 1440p 540Hz + True Black Glossy Coating

Am I correct that even 4th gen OLED are no good if you spend a good time reading text (or some random forum)?
I tried the LG 27GX700A and text looked fine on it and I'd have happily used it for reading, work etc. Unfortunately I didn't keep it as it had some other issues, specifically some odd brightness issues (seemed to dim certain areas of the screen with inactivity) as well as noticeable vertical banding. The lack of a power LED was also annoying.

This has put me off grabbing one for now till it can be ascertained whether this is a manufacturing defect of early samples or is just something with these 4th gen Tandems in general.
Probably wise, hopefully the quality improves. I appreciate it's different panel tech etc but I've had two LG OLED TVs which were both flawless so I was quite surprised by the issues the monitor had.

Yep mines in the hall waiting to be set up - couldn’t believe how little traffic there was, I was expecting to be stuck in traffic for ages today but I was there and back in no time.

Going to have some food and get it set up and get my 5090 in my pc too. Christmas!

Well, I’m all set up after remember the 7th layer of hell that is recabling an Ergotron mount properly :p

Just having a break for food then going to put it through its paces with some games. Initial impressions are pretty wow though.

Well that's not ideal, I plug it all in and it works fine, I load up bf6 then change some graphics settings and have to reload the game, on reload the monitor led flickers a few times, the monitor turns off and is now dead, no power led no OSD nothing, I have tried a different power cable and even tried using hdmi instead of display port and even tried turning it on with nothing but the power cable connected and nothing, it looks like my brand new monitor lasted about 20 minutes.

Oh what!? I don’t have BF6 or I could try the same and see what it does. So sorry to hear that.

Did you manage to get it working again or is it still completely dead?

Ok, low key I might just be a genius, So I plugged in my 4K monitor only to notice that it was still detecting this one but this one wasn't responding and wouldn't turn on but it was still showing in device manager and nvidia control panel, then I remembered this monitor has something called the Asus display widget center which I didn't bother installing because who wants more bloat ware, but that basically gives you the OSD but via a windows app.
So I installed this, it detected the monitor and I did a factory reset on the monitor, still nothing but then I did a forced pixel clean which took about 10 minutes and when it finished the monitor just turned back on lol
