I've used Eversure for the excess/top up insurance no issues with the purchasing side but never claimed so no idea if they nay good in that respect

Sure i've used them before, think Leisure Guard are another on Martin Lewis money website saving thing. At about £24 its worth doing for piece of mind.

Used Questor several times myself and never had an issue.

Only once did I nearly have to claim. The hire company tried to claim that I caused pre existing damage, but they eventually saw the error of their ways.

Questor were very supportive through the whole debacle.

Hate the fact so many people seem to be scammed by hire companies.

On the few occasions I've hired, I've always taken photos and video before setting off and upon returning.

Although, our rental in Tromso was the hardest to do when it was covered in 2ft of snow at the airport.

Used Eversure and Leisure Guard, depending on which one was cheaper that year. I've read good reviews for them both and MSE normally gives a discount code.

Never had to claim but came in handy in the States when hiring a big car as they asked for extra insurance and showing them my Leisure Guard policy was enough.

Nearly had to use it with Hertz in Tenerife when they tried to charge me for a small mark on the bumper but then checked the video I made at pick up and it was there already. Crooks.

Well after changing my hire car dates with Sixt. Whilst in Australia i was able to cancel and rebook the hire which allowed us to pick up the car 1 day earlier and also save myself £60 on the original price.
I then tried to change and add a date on with Questor to cover the hire period. They wanted £10 for 1 day alone. So ended up cancelling the policy with zero fee's and starting a new one with Leisure Guard, Which they came in at £24 cheaper.

How much are you paying for those? I just buy an annual policy from insurance4carhire, I think it's £60 a year for worldwide cover. No faffing about specific dates. I do rent a few times a year, though.

Was £26 for the rental period. Am very unlikely to be hiring a car again this year. The annual policies are very well priced for people who can benefit from them.

Does this cover you for any hire car and means you don’t need to take the extra insurance at the desk? I had no idea this was a thing and just paid £32 for one three day car hire through discover cars.

Yes it does, so you've paid more for one 3 day rental than DW has for the whole year with multiple rentals. ;)

At least you know now and can stop yourself being ripped off in this regard by the car rental companies.
