Finally after a very formal complaint to CEX head office I received an apology, an email stating they were wrong and £50

To all those who said it will change the guarantee

"Please be assured that reinstalling the operating system will not affect your CeX warranty in any way. Your guarantee remains fully valid, and there will be no issue should you need support from us in the future."

Thats a good result for your group, I know I'm slightly late to the party but I 2nd everyone who's said wipe with a fresh Windows install, they're new(ish) laptops and Windows 11 shouldn't take long to install to a basic account creation stage.
