Purchased the following
9800X3D
MSI MPG B850 Edge Ti WiFi
Patriot Viper Venom EXPO 32GB DDR5 C30 6000MHz

I have built a new pc today with the above components.

My current PSU is a super flower 750W. I have a NZXT on order, arriving next week.

I have two HDDs installed. A Samsung Evo 980 and WD SSD.

Bios wont detect the m.2 drive so cannot install windows. I have tried it in all 4 m.2 slots and updated to the latest bios. Still won't detect my Samsung m.2 drive.

Any help appreciated.

Is this a new empty drive, or an existing drive?

If an existing drive, does enabling CSM and/or disabling secure boot help? If the drive previously had Windows installed, it might be formatted to MBR and new boards expect you to use GPT.

This is a drive pulled from my old pc. It has W11 Installed.I have tried enabling csm and disabling SB. No difference.

@Garyj881: Had something similar on an MSI board. A few things worth checking, even if they feel obvious: make sure the M.2 slots are set to PCIe/NVMe only, not Auto or SATA. Disable RAID/IRST if it’s on. Also try clearing CMOS properly. If it’s invisible in BIOS at all, there’s a real chance the 980 just died between builds. Annoying, but it happens.

I've tried the nvme in my son's pc. Its not detected in bios or disk management. I guess it's a dead drive :(

@Garyj881: Sorry for the late reply and after the holidays, and yes, that's bitter. If it doesn't show up in the BIOS or disk management, unfortunately it looks like a total failure in your case. What you could still try: Have you tried another slot or an external NVMe enclosure? Not often, but sometimes little things help, even if there's rarely any hope.
