It will always be this
No contest (Pretenders, Pogues and Wham a close second).
This likely my top also, weirdly I could have sworn it was crosby stills and nash, but lol, whoopsie me!I have about 40 in my Christmas songbook, from school assembly bangers (dressing up as a sheep not compulsory) to Slade, and the one I enjoy playing and gets the best reception is nearly always Fairy Tale of New York... the slow start and rousing chorus is such a winner, even in care homes, where the mood of a song matters more than the words (not that I do the controversial bit). Greg Lake was one of Emerson, Lake & Palmer which is maybe where you're becoming confused. This likely my top also, weirdly I could have sworn it was crosby stills and nash, but lol, whoopsie me!
Pogues
Wham, do enjoy a bit of George!
