The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

After having a tinker with dying light 2 on my card and seeing it pull 375 watts here are my thoughts.
going from 2500 to 2800 fast timings gave me 3 FPS. Power limit +10 gained me lots of fan noise and heat with extra 3FPS and 375watts being pulled. I'd call that not worth it.
Settled with -5 Power limit / -70Mv / 2800Vram with fast timings. This kept it at about 300Watts.

Tried reseating the 12V 2x6 power cable. I heard the distinct click. Yet still - the card is capped at 268W. The PSU has enough juice.

Any other ideas?
Is there any other tuning software installed like msi afterburner or sapphire trixx. Something is over riding you settings.

I have already written - this is a clean install from yesterday. Windows11, drivers, office, Steam, a few games, 3Dmark, prime95 and thats it.

Tested the system RAM for 3 hours, no error.

The only way we have tweaked the GPU is via AMD adrenaline. No other GPU tweaking software was used.

Try a different program like GPU-Z and see if it still shows the same wattage or something different.

Just ordered a Gigabyte Aorus 9070XT for £610 after the £60 rebate, delivery scheduled for Saturday. Any Aorus owners have card specific hints or tips?

I've seen a YouTube teardown video where the guy repasted the GPU and replaced some of the pads on the front of the card but after saying he hoped the backplate was being actively used for cooling via thermal pads I don't believe her ever checked this, does anyone know what the position is with this as it would seem like a quick win to reduce temps if they're not making use of the backplate.

It's replacing a 6800XT so I'm familiar with undervolting but the settings in Adrenaline seem different for the newer cards from what I've seen on YouTube !?!

This is the problem with such confusing naming conventions. If you want an XT ask to return it and get a cheaper model full XT.

Or if it was sent by mistake you should be good for a replacement.

Shout out to whoever mentioned about setting a negative clock offset to help stability - I was getting slightly jealous of all the people commenting their undervolt settings beating my Red Devil which should be a binned chip vs other peoples cards which was more a midrange model - I’ve found a good fan speed that is still minimal noise, 300w max per draw negative 100 clock offset and -100mv and I’ve played RE3 (always crashes my unstable clocks) and I’m halfway through steel nomad clocks sitting around 2.8-2.9ghz - could happily use this setting moving forward
