In the last 10 years I have mostly played (in no particular order):
Civ 6
Civ 5
Elite Danegrous
Xenonauts
Final Fantasy 12
Final Fantasy 7
Hogwarts Legacy
Sins of Solar Empire
Gllomhave (too hard)
Kerbal Space Programme
Stellaris
Phoneix Point (a turn based X-Com type game)

I would quite fancy another builder strategy game, probably not an RTS but I'm open to ideas.

Any thoughts will be gratefully recieved.....unless it's Civ 7 we are not playing that piece of crap.

Lots on my wishlist for sale but either the urge to play them has gone or dont really consider it much of a discount. Did go for Two Point Museum though and ended up paying for DLC but 30 hours in so far and really enjoying it

I tried X3 years ago and never really got on, I hear good things about X4 but I think with Elite Danmgerous I've got that itch covered but thanks for the suggestion I hadn't considred it.

Rimworld? It's not turn based but I wouldn't call it a fast paced/rts type game either. The focus is very much on building up a functional colony, it can get pretty deep too.

Only Assassin's Creed game I've ever completed was Black Flag, see Rogue is now £3.89 for Deluxe edition.

Believe that's similar vein and holds up pretty well still in this day and age?

Thought about X4 Foundations? That up your alley?

Bit bummed that I got X4 on steam then to find out that loaded is doing the X4 Discovery Pack (base game plus timelines DLC) for £7.49 when the DLC alone is at least £8. As I understand it Timelines is accessible as a separate menu option and is a series of missions that help you get used to the core game mechanics so is potentially worthwhile for new players.

Hmmm, that's a diverse list!

Against the Storm (not played but read good things)
Farthest Frontier (played a while back when it was still in EA, quite enjoyed it, similar to banished but better IIRC. )
Anno 1800 - Very good, not sure it ticks your boxes though, but the base game will probably be cheap so it won't cost the earth to give it a try (Oh wow, the sale price is double what it has been, that's a bit ****)
Age of Wonders/Endless Legend - similar to Civ IIRC.
