Best place to get rid of a car you wouldn't sell, but technically runs?

My old 207 is basically beyond economic repair now. And I wouldn't sell it to anyone as that would be a **** move.

Its got a host of labour intensive problems, and tbh, I'm looking at a new car anyway.

What's the best way to get a best price for a car that runs, but in reality is probably scrap.

try webuyany car or motorway, or trade it in if you're after a new car. Worry about the total cost to change rather than explicitly what you get offered for the old car.

Good point on the total cost.

Will look at webuyanycar.

When I say new car.. I mean old new car!

Search for someone that wants scrap cars and then someone will turn up with a truck and give you a few hundred quid and take it away for you. Easy enough. Cba faffing over finding best prices personally.

If you want to make the most money off it then scrap it yourself and sell it part by part on eBay :P

I just tried we buy any car. And they said 1.5k
I know it'll be knocked down.

But online scrap said 270.

So even if webuyany car knock it down, it's still probably best there?

There is no way I'm doing any work on it!

Take it if you just want rid. My son sold his last car to a scrappie with a blown engine, and didn't want the hassle of being messed around by randoms off ebay and the like.

Stupid as it sounds, wait for one of the trade center uk "guaranteed" px deals. As long as it has an MOT and can get there job done.

Don’t over complicate it. Whoever offers you the biggest number in exchange for car wins.

Personally the last two cars I’ve scrapped have been runners and could have kept going but were worth less than the cost of work needing doing in the next year. Both over 150k miles.

As long as you've listed everything you might be surprised. Last time I sold a car to them I actually walked away with more as their idea of full service history was different to mine so they bumped it up.

Never done PX before.

Not sure if that's viable if you're going for a other cheap car?

Depends on the seller/dealer - in that kind of situation they'll probably take advantage of you wanting rid and likely just palm it off on BCA themselves (who then palm them off as job lots to smaller dealers at auction who then end up having to scrap it but probably make bank on balance of the cars).

There's a few reports webuyanycar don't even drive the car if they're busy. Considered them recently for a vehicle.

If I was you I'd use webuyanycar. I've used them before and they've been fine, just expect them to knock you down a bit on the price.

I always try to avoid PX as it keeps things simple. Negotiate the price of the new (old) car and you'll probably end up with a better saving overall.
