What did you get for Christmas?

Various bits.

7in Touchscreen LCD for my 3d printer (Klipperscreen)
Enclosure for my printer
Anker 165w Powerbank
Slippers
Ball end allen key set
Sonoff zigbee smart switch
Some electronics bits (soldering iron stand, flux, test leads etc)
Nice set of t-shirts
Some accoustic wall panels
Meguiars wash mitt
F1 2026 calendar
Apple watch straps
USB power tester/meter

Probably a few other bits I've forget, plus some money.

Video call from Norway with our nieces & nephew - we paid for their Dad to take them away for their first Xmas without their Mum. Got to watch them open their presents and they sang us the first couple of verses of En stjerne skinner i natt (“A Star Shines in the Night”).

We said goodbye as they were off for a reindeer sleigh ride to visit Santa.

Was great to see them in good spirits, but absolutely heartbreaking when Dad messaged us to say our nephew asked Santa if he could bring his Mum back.

I got a couple of little bits, but Wife & I skipped buying each other anything significant so we could spend more on all the kids...

This is why postimage was sucks.

Hmm, didn't realise how unreliable it was :(

Any recommendations for a better image hosting site?

Nivea for mean toiletries
Tennent's brewery tour voucher
Couple of records

I got an Osprey 65 litre backpack for my hiking and photography expeditions, top of the line one - just what I wanted.

Then a bar of chocolate and some liquors,

I also have my best mate over for the next few days we’re having a mini LAN

Put a screen protector on mine as soon i opened it as i heard the screen can get scratched even by just placing it in & out the dock.
Mate of mine said the same. It was a total surprise as I’d no idea I was even getting one so in my defence hadn’t researched these kind of things. Gutted, it’s literally right in the middle and very deep. Donkey kong is mint though :D

There isn't anything material I want or need, but I do appreciate useful gifts. This year's haul included:

Cuisinart 11pc cookware set
Yabano 14pc knife set and block
Guerlain aftershave (favourite)
Various Amazon gift cards
Southern Comfort
Underwear and socks
Arm and wrist rests (possible carpal tunnel)
Enough shortbread and chocolate to fill a warehouse

Favourite gift given: Alongside their regular gifts, I bought a lottery ticket and scratchcard for everybody present on Christmas Day - and a pack of fake 'winning' ones from Amazon. Casually passed out the real tickets and cards, then offered my dad from the selection of fake cards. Seamless, he didn't suspect a thing. He scratches the card and I could see the excitement rising - £100k a month for a year, £1.2m smackaroonies. Checked the front of the card to be sure, asked me if it was legit (oh of course!), then asked three other members of the family to verify it. Two of them looked at the reverse, but somehow missed the passage of joke text which would have given the game away. I kept up the pretence for a good 15 minutes before revealing the bitter truth.

Cue my old man being the butt of every joke at the dinner table. :D
