Dual-mode monitors seem all the rage now. High pixel density for work (and old games) but press a button and you get a half (actually quarter) resolution for the latest games. So I'm wondering when this technology is going to come to 3440x1440 monitors to give us the option of 6880x2880? We already have 7640x2160 monitors which is not much different.
