Tell me more about this sammidge
OoooOooOo I love a good story about a sammidge *rubs thighs*
So, tiger bread but nice and tender not too crusty. Really soft turkey and brie, cranberry sauce, spinach leaves and just the right amount of mustard. Then it had stuffing in, and lots of crunchy bits of fried ham/bacon. It was really big but not too big to fit in your mouth, and so soft it was easy to get a bite. Lots of every ingredient so it was balanced as well.

I realised later I'd taken a picture!

My partner was looking at me with a certain amount of disdain and jealousy as I was so quietly impassioned with this perfect sandwich. But then I got a brownie from the cafe to take home, and when she had her half of that she was equally emotional :P

On the subject of bread, not that I care but I'm surprised how many people at work avoid the crusts (heel) of a loaf and even cut the crusts off at work when making a sandwich (from work supplied food). Which I find amusing as I get some flack for being a fussy eater but quite happy to eat crusts.

I am also very jealous! This looks and sounds so good. Where can I go get one?!

To be honest, I'm in a food coma from all the food today, so we could probably rustle up sandwiches tomorrow from the leftovers. Turkey's all finished though, only beef left. Plus, definitely wouldn't be as good as the sandwich you had.

I love crusty bread it is in very short supply with most stores selling predominantly soft rolls and loaves.

Finally escaped everyone

Man alive...
In London for Xmas, had a good day.....

Now 2am wife puking, shaking pebble dashing the bog... Food poisoning?
Weak Swedish constitution?
Last time we had a UK Xmas was 2019 and we all got COVID "before it was the cool thing to do" in 2020....

I'm fine, a few Brussel sprout farts but....
Speak about ruining Xmas :/

Dunno what your schedule has been like but could just be a mixture of busy schedule, lots of travelling, disrupted or not usual sleep pattern and a heavy meal not going down well on top of that.

I am getting a little bored of people's "cutesy" seasonal pictures of their dogs/pets and/or family generated using AI, at least they are being honest they are AI generated but still, being sent on Facebook and WhatsApp and/or showing me in person. First few times was one thing but it is getting old fast. Seems like a lot of people discovered AI this Christmas.

I just read that mice die quicker on a high protein and low carb diet. Anyone feeling mousey?

Not much meat on a mouse.

Anyone else looking forward to having a few quiet days and especially having less washing up to do? I've been the sous chef at my parents for the last 3 days as they host my brother and family (plus sisters family on Christmas day) and as age has caught up with them I've been taking on more of the jobs. I'm now in need of some well earned rest!

Yes, all things in moderation. I do have 2 relatives who swear by a high protein low carb diet though, they have obtained health benefits from it (allergy reduction).

I don't know if there is any truth to it but I read something once which connected life expectancy and protein / carb balance to blood type with some blood types specific balances are more or less detrimental than others.

Yes after days of things I must do to a few days of things I want to do, or not.

Having said that I dropped my hairbrush yesterday and it snapped at the handle. The mane is in winter mode and I need to go get a new one ASAP.

I am the dumbest man alive.

Spent £18 on an SSD enclosure, plus £26 on an electronics toolkit in order to remove what I thought would be the 512GB SSD from my ancient 2015 MacBook 12” that finally quit life earlier this year. Just spent 1/2 an hour dismantling it and digging around in it’s guts looking for an SSD and scratching my head, only for a quick google to reveal that it doesn’t have an SSD, the storage is integrated to the logic board, and can’t be removed or upgraded.

Probably could have just bought a 512GB SSD for the £44 I’ve spent on the enclosure and the toolkit.

:( soldered flash storage is almost as bad as eMMC - companies who do stuff like that, except maybe on ultra budget lines but even then I'm not convinced, should be taken to account in my opinion.
