They're finally sending me a new chair after a rep got in contact with me. I can only put the long delay and poor communication down to the time of year but it's really not good and I would buy with caution.
 
I finally got the replacement chair so now all is sorted however still unimpressed.

The new chair came with a loud click every time I sat on it. I had a good look underneath with a torch and I found 2 of the plastic mesh connections were out of place - fortunately I was able to gently pop them into place with a screw driver and solved the issue. The chair is now absolutely perfect and I'm very happy with it BUT it's shocking that again it came with shoddy quality control. Isn't anyone testing the chairs before shipping them out? The new chair feels completely different to the original one and in a good way so there was something fundamentally wrong with the gas lift in the original one.

It's an amazing chair but really not impressed with the experience overall.
