NFL 2024 season

Good result. Shame we've been woeful against the rest of our division so the Packers games will be interesting. I can see us stumbling a little over the next 3 games tbh.

Yeah, whilst I don't think the Eagles O had a good game, the Bears O Line was very impressive.

I don't watch many Eagles games at LFF, but that home crowd tonight was pathetic. Might as well been an away game for them.
I've actually been to LFF, and I remember being told 'Don't wear your team's colours!'. Eagles fans are known for being brutal. There was podcast/YouTube channel call 'Bang Cartoon Radio Hour' or something like that, which used to poke fun at the league and teams and they did a video of one of the drafts. When it got to the Eagles -

"With their first pick, the Eagles draft Jesus Christ"
Eagles Fans - "booooooooooo!"

Lol. Fair play that must have been an experience. That's probably one NFL stadium I'd skip. I might even take Lambeau in Bears gear over that!

I'm aware of some of the legends/history around their fans. Also more recently that female Packer's fan getting verbally assaulted. I get the complaints about Nick Siriani's mate hire and that and fans can obviously boo all they want. There was a rumour that that final game at SF last year convinced McCaskey to act differently (i.e. we uncharacteristically moved very quickly to hire Ben Johnson) but that's after decades of the same rubbish and a 10-game franchise tieing worst losing streak. Like you say, brutal.

The Chicago Bears, No.1 seed in the NFC after week 13. Who would have predicted that. Still a tough run coming up for them and making playoffs still a challenge.

Yeah, a few crazy games last night. I remember saying last year that I thought Bryce Young might be good enough for the Panthers, he threw a few nice passes yesterday. Twice, a TD on fourth down  Apologies to Rams fans, I finally put Stafford in my fantasy team, hence the poor performance.

Not sure what to think about the Commanders now. Our D is definitely better with DQ calling things. With Jayden back in, we could be dangerous down the road to teams looking to make the playoffs. As it is, I don't mind losing now. We're going nowhere, so maybe a better draft pick isn't bad :D

Crazy. The Rams losing (which I did not expect) has opened up the No.1 seed, maybe really favouring the Packers now. The difference between the current 1 seed us at 9-3 vs. the Niners at 7th seed on 9-4 is just insane.

Someone listed the scenarios for the Bears the other day and we go 4-1 we win the Division. 3-2 is pretty much guaranteed playoffs and then 2-3, or 1-4 down the stretch is all then dependant on other games and who you lose to.

I enjoyed watching the Rams at Panthers, very good game. Shows the impact of defenses making explosive plays rather than needing to be a dominant unit the whole time. And the Jets over the Falcons and that close finish. The new UK TV deal and the sheer number of options of games is so good this year.

I haven't seen much of the Commanders but next year's draft is going to be drama as a result of all these big trades. The number of teams with double-picks, particularly good teams; Cowboys, Rams and a so called stronger QB-class. Plus the usual round of new GMs, Head Coaches and FA shenanigans that needs sorting.

Regarding Bryce Young; I'll be honest I thought he was a bust, particularly after the benching last year and nature of their start this year. But some of the play down the stretch last year and this year he's going to get the big second deal. Again I suspect some of this is the nature of most 1st round rookies going to bad teams and it takes a while for them to build around the QB, particularly when the Panthers gave up so much to get him. So fair play to him.

Some great games again this week, Bears just falling short against the Packers. Bad play call for me at the end but can say it was a bad throw too.

The Bills had a big escape v the Bengals, Cincy cruising along and then a few minutes of madness totally changed the game.

Rams back to their best and probable SB favs at the moment though the 49ers and Seattle will still have big says in the NFC West

Jaguars beating the Colts who are in freefall and probably heading for missing the playoffs and possibly losing all their remaining games with the QB out now.

The Steelers beating the Ravens in the battle for the AFC North title, both teams looking very weak though compared to other AFC teams

Buccs slipping up big time against the Saints giving the Panthers a shot at the division title.

And what more can be said about this Houston Texans defense, apart from they are heading towards being put in the convo as the best there has been in many a year, especially considering how bad the offence can be.
Getting 2000 Baltimore Ravens similarities with how the defence is basically winning the games.

Also a great sight seeing Mahomes and Kelce battered and bruised, especially Kelce, crying for flags all night.
Chiefs massive uphill battle to make the playoffs now, probably need to win out and then need major help with other teams losing as The Texans, Bills, Chargers and Jags all hold the tie breaker over them

I couldn't watch any of the games this weekend, so lots to catch-up on, but I suspect the Packers are a championship calibre team. Maybe just them and the Rams. Possibly Seattle, but for Darnold and maybe the Eagles if they sort offense out. From the NFC.

Sound like the Chiefs are pretty much done, other than a small mathematical chance. Will make for a much more interesting year in the AFC though.

EDIT; forgot the Niners!

   Wow, what a ending to the Bears v Packers. Unbelievable final 3 minutes and OT.

TD to get it to OT by a undrafted rookie free agent on 4th down and only his second catch ever was just brilliant and the throw by Williams and catch by Moore was amazing considering the conditions.

Amazing ending and Pole position for the Bears to win the division now.

What a start to week 16 with 2 huge division games going to OT to potentially decide the division titles.

Yeah, I just watched the highlights. It's a shame it wasn't on a time when more of us could watch it unfold as it happened. From what I could see Willis played quite a good game, so it's a shame a mistake played such a big part, but the Bears did great to get the win.

I watched the Commanders first half and we looked okay, but I felt lucky to be up at that point. I don't know what happened to Mariota, but that seemed to be the end of things once he was gone.

Yes Willis did really well and they should have won it before botched snap but its turning into the season of crazy 4th quarter turnarounds.

No hope for Washington when Mariota went off, looked like it was a combo of banging his head and the player standing on his hand. They were doing well up till then.

:D :D :D

Enjoying it!!! Jahdae Walker had a nice preseason but had got lost behind the 4 WRs during the season. But with injuries to Rome and Luther it was nice to see him have his moment. Those two TD catches to both tie and win the game were amazing. Felt like the Packers were the Bears finding ways to lose whilst a moment of QB magic won the game. As if roles are reversed.

I do think the game on Thursday was stunning. I don't know how the Rams lost. And I didn't expect it, given to me they look SB ready. Fair play to Darnold and co.

Well a crazy end to the Lions v Steelers game, but whatever happened and it was mad Aaron Rodgers has just sealed the Chicago Bears a playoff spot :D

Lions are about done now for a playoff spot, think they need the Packers to lose the next two while they win both

I'm pleasantly shocked how the Bears season has unfolded, but tbh coming back in the 4th quarter is only going to save you so many times, especially against the teams that are really playing well, but it's still great to see the team at the top, rather than the bottom and I hope, even if we blow out in the play-offs, that we really strengthen in the off-season.

We're playing with house money as the US-based fans like to say. It would be nice to see a long play-off run, but no matter how and when the season ends it feels like we have the right HC and QB. Which I don't think we've been able to say for a long time.

I think we're going to have to juggle cap-space in the off-season, potentially look at releasing a few players, but hopefully rejuvenate the defense in the draft. I think one thing people seem to forget about the Bears this year is we don't have a pass-rush, are banged-up week-to-week to the point I'm don't think we've ever had a full set of starters and surviving with season veteran pick-ups. And therefore the success of Dennis Allen seems to have gone under the radar a bit. He's working miracles with what he's got. And certainly this season is just a reminder of how important coaching is and how bad we were over the last few years. Good, better, best!...

Chicago Bears clinch the NFC North title after the Packers lose to the Ravens.
Still a chance of the No.1 seed if they beat the 49ers tomorrow and a bit of help elsewhere. Tough ask but they have a chance.

Baltimore still have a slim hope of winning AFC North after their win tonight. Just need the Cleveland Browns to beat the Steelers and it will go down to the last game, Steelers v Ravens.

Houston Texans clinch a playoff spot after beating the LA Chargers, amazing achievement after starting the season 0-3 then 3-5. 8 wins in a row but they can't keep relying on the defense to win them games.

Some big games tomorrow, mostly playoff seeding positions but Tampa and Carolina looking for wins with NFC South still up for grabs

Great season. I do think at the Niners is going to be extremely hard. NFC West is crazy with the three playoff bound teams all fighting for the No.1/Division crown (although I still don't get how the Rams didn't wrap this up).

But I imagine the NFL will want the Browns to beat the Steelers, otherwise that's one less game that'll matter in Week 18. And there's probably going to be games that may not matter as expected a few weeks ago (i.e. Vs. Det).

Well they have their wish.
Brilliant performance from the Browns defense. Crazy how good that defense but just stuck with a dreadful offense.

Steelers v Ravens and Buccaners v Panthers, win and or in next week.

No.1 seed gone for the Bears now after Seattle's win.

Yep the two games for the divisions will be huge, although if the Niners win tonight there's still the No.1 seed and NFC West crown even with the Seattle win over the Panthers. I believe both the Bears and Niners have the h2h/tie breaker on the Seahawks. Even if it's unlikely for the Bears (particularly with these last minute sicknesses), i.e. they don't control their own destiny whereas the Niners do with their game against Seattle next week. So for the NFL again the Niners winning probably gives them a better week 18 contest.

Still crazy to be having this conversation to be honest. How far the Bears have come.

Seattle clinches NFC West division title and the NFC's No. 1 seed, lone first-round bye and home-field advantage with:

  1. SEA win + LAR loss or tie + SF-CHI tie
