Are you going to buy the 2022 Apple TV with USB-C charging on the remote?

Does Infuse support Plex user accounts yet? It's been a few years since I tried it.
Ish. You need to sign in with a Plex account, and that follows the user profiles on ATV. Ie, wife uses her profile and Infuse opens with her dashboard, then I switch to my profile and it brings up my stuff. This is why I'd prefer to use the native App, because then it doesn't matter whose ATV profile you're on. Our boy watches Disney films etc, and I'd rather they play with Infuse because a lot of that media doesn't seem to work well with the Plex app and it's transcoded down to 1080p from 4KDV, but since he doesn't have an ATV account, it's played on one of our profiles which we don't really want.

Managed to snag a cheap 22 model so that will tide me/us over until this supposed new model comes out and then I’ll just do the ATV merry go round with the oldest version going to the in laws.

I’ve not watched it, but if it really is everything they ‘know’, then it’s a three second video of someone saying “well, nothing”. Because only Apple actually know.
True. Most of what they said doesn't really interest me anyway. I'm really not bothered by gaming on the Apple TV or having a webcam built in.

Holy Christmas carols!

BBC iPlayer for Apple TV got an update which enables subtitles! Still no UHD support (I think - maybe my TV isn’t on the right settings).

The current gen is ace, unless there’s some game changing feature I would see no need to upgrade.

I would like to see an updated version, but agree there isn't that much if anything to be improved - my main reasoning is I would like another and would rather a "new" one than an old version.

Makes sense, I am waiting for passthrough audio, so if THAT comes I would purchase and retire the current gen to another room.

I wish the new model would be released soon, I have the Apple TV 4K before the current one and it's painful at times. I can't use the supplied remote as it's so unresponsive or then wakes up and does multiple actions. Fortunately using CEC I can control it using my TV's remote.

Makes a really good Tailscale Exit node though. For reference this has nothing to do with the useless remote operation as this predates the install of Tailscale.

You can use your iPhone as a remote. That is what I do.

For some reason I've been having issues with my Apple stuff. I need to send my AirPods Pro 3 back for repair and when I went to turn on my Apple TV this evening it didn't turn on. Unplugged it and plugged it back in. The iPhone remote for it doesn't connect (not surprising as it doesn't even turn on) and I'm not sure what to do. The official remote has had troubles for ages so that isn't an option.

I've looked at factory resetting it but as it won't turn on I can't do it on the device itself. I also can't use my iPhone to reset it because it won't power on.

Looking for some advice.
