What TV shows are you currently watching

Just finished binge watching "For All Mankind"

For those who haven't heard of it, it's a pretty awesome "what if" cold war space series set against the premise that Stalin doesn't send the patriarch of the Soviet rocket program to a gulag, resulting in him not dying as young, resulting in the Soviet rocket program not stalling out before they reach the moon resulting in the USA failing to overtake them in the moon race (plus all of the billions of butterfly effects resulting from that). There's four seasons set over roughly four decades right up to modern times and each series follows the stories of multiple charecters.

I would give season one between 9-10 out of 10, it's that good.
Season two is a decent 8 out of 10.
Season three is 6-7 out of 10.
Season four is mostly a 2 out of 10, however there is one 8 out of 10 story in there (as mentioned earlier the series follow multiple characters stories at the same time, one is good the rest are complete trash to the point you wonder if you're watching a bad comedy).
Just finished FAM last night and feel largely the same as you. It's worth watching for the first two series, and by that point you're invested enough to watch the rest.

I do think they've left it in a really interesting place for s5.
I'm hoping that they go, say, 20 years into the future with it rather than just doing modern day.

Well I just sat through Pluribus over a couple of days. What a pile of self indulgent crap.

9 episodes could easily have been shortened to 3. Episode 7 you could can completely miss and not lose anything.

Hours of lovely scenery but could watch that on you tube. Plot wafer thin after episode 2 and what there was of it was so full of holes it's a joke.

I sat and watched it all waiting for it to 'start' and by the time I got to episode 7 I was so near then end I finished watching it but really wish I hadn't bothered. More repetitive than Groundhog Day but at least in that film that was the point.

Pluribus done. An amazing piece of television.

Got to love opinions :p

It's almost as if media is subjective :D

I actually look out for posts saying XX is too slow and nothings happening.. they tend to be my kind of shows that value depth rather than width.. (that's what she said ;) )

So totally agree.. some like things to move quickly with not that much depth to the characters.. and I like that sometimes as well.. but often I prefer a slower story.. when some episodes don't do anything other than explore the characters themselves....

I like all sorts of stuff, but slow for the sake of it are terrible. I am waiting to be called 'tik tok generation', not that I have ever even been on the site, am far too old.

It's on my list to watch so can't comment on the show itself as yet.. but there have been several things now where people on here say it's too slow that i've really enjoyed.. and the slowness / depth was part of the enjoyment.

Hell we're all different... it would be pretty boring if we all agreed right ;)

Too right. Just don't bother watching episode 7, you get 45 mins of your life back :D

I just watched Ep7. Yeah, looked pretty, but nothing actually happened that couldn't have been done in 5mins!

I'm not going into the Pluribus thread for fear of spoilers on 8 and 9, but i saw Ep 7 like VG did for the BB episode 'Fly'. Nothing happened, but was an interesting watch. Maybe he was going for more of the same, or he ran out of budget and had to condense?!

I'm still enjoying it and looking forward to 8 and 9.

first time watching the wire, season 1 episode 5, enjoying it so far, keeps you coming back for more
I truly wish I could experience The Wire for the first time again :)
Season 2 was easily my favourite. Season 5 is the weakest, but one persistent character's story is wrapped up beautifully, and that alone makes the final season worth sticking with.

Just finished 'The Copenhagen Test' on Peacock.

7/10. Simu Liu - Whilst competent is not the great leading man a series like this needs, actione scenese great but whether it's the script or direction there is very little range from him. The story itself was actually interesting, reasonably well executed for it's aim. The supporting cast were good to great, Good series, worth watching for the story and surrounding actors.

Really interested to hear how you find this series. I watched a couple of episodes and was a bit, hmm, not sure if its one to perservere with and parked.
Admittedly it was pretty hard to follow for the first few episodes and I had to keep rewinding it coz I kept missing so much. Lol!

But in 2 days I have watched all of season 1 and 4 of the 2nd season.

So I'm thoroughly enjoying it and I love Mackey and very excited to see where it goes!

Presumed Innocent. Finished watching this last night, and it was an excellent whodunnit court drama. Jake Gyllenhaal was the main actor. Honestly did not know the outcome or which way it was going until the very end.
