Also, we're meeting my partners sibling in Bangkok in October (It's pretty much a half way point between NZ and UK) so we thought we'd make a trip of it, we've been playing around with flights and destinations to visit along the way and decided we definitely wanted to visit Singapore, and in the end we decided to fly home from Kuala Lumpur, se we have booked the following flights, and then go from there....
We decided to leave it completely open and make an adventure of it, but we wanted 2 nights in Singapore so we can explore the city, so we started looking at hotels, well, i know Singapore is expensive, but my god, anything remotely decent is well over $1000NZ a night, i thought surely that can't be normal, so I looked to see if anything was happening on the weekend we fly in (9th-11th Oct), and sure enough, the F1 is on! We didn't have a clue, but we're both F1 fans too so we thought omg, we can go to the Singapore GP! Started looking at prices and the prices are absolutely ridiculous! About $800 per person for a walk around ticket for zone 4 for Sunday alone! I mean, I like F1, but not that much! So we have found a hotel near the circuit and we're just gonna try and head up to a rooftop bar and see what we can see from there. The rest of the trip is literally going to be like Race across the world style, except for a flight to Bangkok after Singapore, all overland from BKK to KL though.
