Hello all,

The time has come to move on our fiesta, 2005 (bit of a family heirloom, was my late grandfathers)
It's a great car TBH, <80,000 miles, new clutch etc. However, not sold a car of this value for a while. Where am I best advertising? FBMP?

cheap cars I think gumtree is best, it where I got my cheap stop gap car. Or Facebook, but I have heard from many people who have used FB that if the person who buys the car finds minor issue with the car they can message you.

I sold a car on fbmp, obviously a pain but it did sell fairly easily. Apart from the last guy wouldnt stop sending me photos of him modifying my poor car.

Buying on there is far worse.

Gumtree seems to be the one these days. You'll get the same audiance as on Autotrader (expensive now), but it's free for private sellers.

Put a sign on the window and leave it in a car park on on the side of a road somewhere busy.

Or facebook marketplace, local newspapers etc.

For an easy life - WBAC.

Highest figure? Not a chance.

Easiest transaction? Probably.

Just bare in mind what they quote on the website is complete rubbish, they will knock massive chunks off for arbitary stuff, like lack of parcel shelf.

If you're trying to seller privately, make sure the buyer understands it's sold as seen.

I sold my old car on facebook marketplace, yes it was a pain but i did sell it on the same day it was listed.

The scammers are relentless on there though so be wary, they sound very convincing with their opening conversations.

Thanks all

Already sold though... contact of my mechanic. Going to be sad to see it go, has been in the family for 15 years and saw my grandad off!!

How much of a cut is your mechanic making from this? or it's going to the mechanic's mate who prob a motor trader or car flipper and it'll be relisted in a few weeks with a massive markup.

I've never had a problem selling low value cars on FBMP. Plenty of scammers out there but if you have a form of common sense they're easy to spot.

Lol nothing, family friend of ours for 20+ years (plus we did his accounts). He just gets to keep it as a customer car I guess, and it's his uncle the car is going to

At this end of the market, WBAC or someone you know. This is bangernomics 101 and will attract the most knuckle draggiest, room temperature IQ, "best price m8", "swop for xbox", "holibobs in benidorm m8" windowlickers that we're blessed to share a planet with.

I'd rather set fire to something than deal with that absolute pond life.
