Nipah virus? - Here we go again

My nonsense filter has gotten so good that I don't even register these things, in all honesty... Ignorance is bliss and all that. I also avoid hospitals like... er... the plague. :D

If you want a taste, check out the Fox and GB News Youtube channels, read the comments on the videos.

I really enjoyed some aspects of lockdown so I wouldn't be too upset with a summer one
Some of the best times of my life. Working from home, more energy, not wasting thousands a year on commute. Was a special time indeed. Alas a lot of people died so best we skip this.

Don't panic. But if you're going to panic, then panic first. That's me sorted.

Ive bagged the toilet paper industry already

The toilet paper issue was actually only Australia because they imported all their paper from the Philippines I think.
There are now toilet paper factories in Australia.
HOWEVER, because of news stories all over Facebook by Australian newspapers with the same name as ours (The Mirror, The Sun, Daily Mail, Sunday Times etc) idiots thought it was also our Country.
Even today The Mirror (Australian) has run a story about cats having to stay in 24/7 and 1000s of Brits think it's the UK.

I'll be fine anyway.

Because of my underlying health issue, I get fast tracked to all the vaccinations, get the flu vaccination free etc, despite being way under the age to get it.

I have no idea what my underlying health condition is mind you, and seemingly neither does my doctors surgery.

But I'll take it.

Probably get me out of fighting the (any time now) WW3 as well.

No it won't, they need hand to hand combat specialists like you, I'll put you forward, with the caveat specialisation is 12-15yo gangs

I dint say a single word, walked up to him, grabbed him by the neck and slammed his head into a brick wall, whilst I was pinning him against this wall I was kneeing and kicking the **** out of him. When I eventually let go, he dropped to the floor like a sack of **** and all his mates backed right off.

In hind sight in wa probably quite a stupid thing to do, but it worked.

Well this was flying under my news radar until spotting this thread ~10mins ago, there's even some articles hidden on BBC news, sounds quite similar symptoms to covid...

Vomiting and altered consciousness were less usual with COVID, fever and aches seem to be more common with this one and often more significant than typical of COVID or a cold.

Does seem like good hygiene is a significant barrier to this virus so transmission is relatively preventable if people pull their heads out their behinds :s

Oh yea damn.

I mean that was like 20 years ago now, I probably didn't have my underlying health condition then.

And anyway, I thought the council of OCUK had decided that was fake news?

I never decreed it as such, I stood up and clapped. Ah but now you have experience with a deadly weapon (air rifles) so still of great use. Plus, don't underestimate those 4000 hours on PUBG, everyone knows that playing games makes you an actual expert on military tactics and general ballistics.

I’ve seen on a few places that ‘lockdown was stupid’ recently, and while I don’t think it was handled ‘well’ it does all feel a bit captain hindsight to me.

I remember getting sicker than I have ever been just before the first lock down, before even testing was available, along with my wife and a bunch of people from my work. I couldn’t think or breathe. Wife was struggling with breathing so bad I almost called 999, and she has to this day lost her sense of smell.

There is no doubt in my mind that whatever that was, it was possibly a killer for people of ill health. Later, I knew 2 people that died from COVID from a state of ‘normal health’ (as far as was known) and I believe it.

I’ve now had COVID a whopping 4 times (3 of which were verified with the testing) and nothing was as bad as that first time, but I had to take some fairly chunky time off work especially after the third time because I just couldn’t think - it was like it turned my brain to mush.

So yeah, it’s kind of odd for me when people infer that all lockdown was silly. When no one had a clue what was going on, or how bad it really was, then seems like a good idea IMO.

Exactly how we do it and for how long etc., yeah plenty of room to criticise that.
