I don't think they'll bother competing on this one, as it's a very niche product, and probably not worth the investment, when it can be spent elsewhere especially as the monitor itself costs as much as their current top gpu's

Once these hit £300 or so they'll have mainstream appeal.

I just hope Nvidia keep investing in tech like this. They are a very different AI focused company now. We are just seeing the work they have put in the past 4 years come to fruition. Hopefully it’s not the last of it.

I read consumer GPUs are only like 7-8% of their profits now.

Yeh, imagine if Nvidia pulled out of the gaming GPU market altogether...

I had a quick look to see what's coming Pulsar wise and I might just wait for the Acer XB323QX 31.5" or similar, it's dual mode 5k/2k, should be a good upgrade from 4k 27" without being too big.
Probably max comfortable size on a desk pushed right to the back I think, at least for me.

Yeah that'd be a wise choice, flexibility of two pulsar ranges and the 5K detail would be insane if it keeps the brightness we get at the moment or betters it. Although it says 350 still good but not insane after reading.

Really interesting that Nvidia confirmed they believe Pulsar could work with mini-LED. It'll be interesting where it ends up going in the next few years with varying panel sizes/resolutions becoming supported.

Laughing at the blur busters person thinking you were trolling with 540 nits of brightness

It’s genuinely insanely bright. I used to have the very first lightboost monitor the XL2411T and that was super dark and oddly red tinged when you enabled strobing. This new Asus is a leap forward.

I didn't think I'd use the adaptive brightness at all but it's been really useful for the past few days with finally getting a bit of sun in the UK again. It's nice not to have to adjust the monitor settings and it just handles it for me in the evening and during the day.

Odd that it's not been a common thing on monitors before considering how 'standard' it is on phones/tablets etc.
 
The video explains the topic well. The move to LCDs was a big trade off for motion.

I remember I would play Pro Evolution Soccer competitively Xbox 360/PS3 days. At the tournaments I would try and sit at the CRT setups and not LCD. I didn't quite understand at the time why it felt better but later understood it all. less lag and better clarity.
 
Been looking for a second monitor for ages, seriously tempted to pick one of these up as second monitor to compliment my 27 4k oled. Would you recommend this over say a 500hz oled as are not that far away in price.

You would need an Nvidia GPU to take advantage of Pulsar. Mentioning it as your signature says you have and AMD one.

Then I don't think this is the monitor for you, this monitor is best for the games in the 120-360hz performance range and if the firmware update works then games from 48-360hz

granted if you want the motion performance for multiplayer in those ranges this is better than the OLED....equivalent
