I've tried it with a couple of kits now with reasonable success. It's not pretty but doesn't stand out as much as I expected and the 4800 kits I have seem to be happy running a decent bit faster with a voltage bump up to 1.25v.
My Asus board has been happy with the 3 kits I've tried but my Gigabyte doesn't seem to like the Samsung kit and won't run faster than 3200. I didn't even know DDR5 could run that slow!
It's definitely worth considering IMHO. I had a 32gb kit from my laptop I upgraded last year already and the adapters cost me around £20
The second kit I bought used for £95 so total cost around £115 for 32GB DDR5 running at 5600 cl36 is pretty decent value at the moment.
