James Van Der Beek - RIP :(

Leaving behind 6 kids. I don't know how you would deal with that as a dad. I don't know how you deal with that as a family. Feel for all of them.

Just saw that his family had to start a GoFundMe for his medical bills despite him being worth $3+ million as the US healthcare system bankrupted them, words fail...

If he's worth that much you presume he would have had some form of medical insurance, if that's the case and he still ended up spending $1.5 million on healthcare then that's arguably even more insane. Why even bother with insurance if the bills with it are still so insane that the average person could never realistically pay it all back.

That sucks, he was cool in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back :(

*EDIT*

Raised over 2 million already

I recognise the actor and I think I watched it a few times. But it's more the fact he's not far off my age that saddens me the most. Bowel cancer is a horrible disease (well all cancer is really). Shame :(

Sad news, RIP. Loved Dawson's Creek back in the day. Thought he was great playing himself up in Don't Trust The B****. Never seen Varsity Blues, will need to remedy it.

Absolute disgrace that his treatment has bankrupted the family that they need a go fund me.

RIP, gofundme setup to support the family after huge medical expenses.

It's just plain wrong that he and his family had to stress about medical bills while he was dying of cancer. What a grotty system they have.
They do have a grotty system.

However, I bet the widow didn't mention in her GOfundme they paid nearly $5 million dollars to buy a ranch 33 days before he died though...

The 5,149-square-foot main house features five bedrooms and three bathrooms. It comes with a commercial kitchen, balconies with sky and river views, an outdoor living space with a pool, and a tram to the river.

A tram! The grift is real.

For a country that despises socialism, celebs and politicians love taking free money from people.
