Carrie 2026 TV series

Hope it doesn't end up being just another teens with super powers thing.

Didn't know about The Institute series (or the book) so will have to look into that.
This is what I’m concerned about too. They really need to balance it and get the tone just right. Or it will really ruin things.

Holy carp, that ending was sublime!!! It was like the original Carrie on steriods.

The after bit though, leading up to season 2? Not so much, felt out of place :(

Have you seen it all? It appeared to me that a second season is a possibility due to how it ended as opposed to the original movie....

That will teach me to open my mouth before I have watched it all, I'm half way through. I can guess where it is heading, not sure I'm happy with such a huge change from the book/movie but Stephen King is executive producing so who am I to complain - still loving it anyway :D

Binged rest of episodes last night as it had me hooked after the first one, enjoyed it for the most part and liked how it was leaning more into the powers as it got closer to the finale but I can't say with the ending I'm thrilled for what feels it will be like that 'spin off' episode of Stranger Things going to be the bulk of s2.

I did have a smile when we got the mini BSG reunion as parents.

Loved it, they got the feel, flow and vibe just right and how about the acting from everyone, it was ridiculously good like they had been those characters years before.

Binged 7 episodes today and shall watch the final one tomorrow.
IMO it is absolutely fantastic. I can barely remember much of the original film - only saw it a few times as a teenager and that was enough for me! The entire cast as well as the BSG crew are all fantastic so far.

Edit: Watched the final eps just now and this is a 10/10 for me. Had a blast.

Really good series, loved all the Easter eggs and the bsg crew, i didn't even notice mark Hamills cameo. Im glad they didn't just copy the book.

I really enjoyed Carrie, was always waiting for the Prom scene and it didn't disappoint ;).

I wonder if her mom is really dead, I don't think so. That could be a good story arc - as she demonstrated powers she could either team up with her daughter (cue lots of searching for her) or become another enemy.

The one and only thing that spoiled the watching were the bloody adverts on Prime, so many adverts for tampons and sanitary towels  . It almost made me subscribe to advert free. Almost.

They stopped her heart, she dead.

Just finished episode 7, ready for the sparks to fly in the next episode when I get home from work :D.

Really, really good series. They've done a great job modernising a 50 year old story with modern society and the crap that comes with it and is a testimant to King's stories that they can be translated so well in the first place. His body of work always amazes me when I remember he also wrote IT, Shawshank Redemption and Green Mile. Truly one of the goats.
