Hi. In a moment of madness i gave my young lad my system and took his as he was gaming a lot more than me. However, time has come to put hand in pocket as this one seems to like eating Hard Drives for some weird reason.

What i am wondering is do ii go down the DDR5 route, or stick to DDR4 as i am not playing anything too taxing. No mans Sky, Farming Sims, Planet Crafter, to give you an idea.

That's a start for a decent upgrade...however if you don't know what's causing the issues with the hard drive and you have no expertise/parts/time/want to troubleshoot, then the easiest way is just to replace the whole rig...but if course that's the sledgehammer method.
There's no need to spend the £2k fully...but it'll be close, for an AM5 build.

Think i would rather go complete new system. This one has served us well over the years, but like myself it is getting on a bit. I know AMD5 would be future proofing things a bit but hate to buy a Ferrari and sit everywhere at 30MPH, if you know what i mean lol. Do you think a decent AMD4 kit would be good enough for a few years?
