trying to choose

ok im in the planing stages of a htpc im gathering hardware and testing software
What id like to know is wich do you find more stable and better for general all purpose use

mediaportal
xp mce
powercinema 3

i prefer mce to powercinema, I havent used the other one.

i have heard that xp mce is very cpu and ram hungry is this true?

It can be, but your MPEG-2 decoder plays a big part in that.
