After what is going around in the news about Slim being out this is quite funny!

Although these cameras are quite old, I can see them being quite popular, and it is quite a cool feature!

all it does is compress the image horizontally, its obvious from the first photo with the trees in the background. how else would it work?

Well yeah, but joe bloggs on the street doesn't know how to do this, so having it built into the camera makes it a good selling point.

Looks like it doesn't actually change the size of the photo though - so it must work out where the person is and compress that segment, stretching the other bits to make up for it?

What a silly effect, you may look slim in the photo but you're still a fat ****.

It'll appeal to people who think they look fat in photos, regardless of whether they do in real life, they will love the fact the photos they take can be altered to show otherwise.

The reason the camera adds 10Ibs is because of the curvature of the lens, take a photo of say your monitor and the edge is curve outwards. Apply the same to someone and they will look "wider", solve it by using 100mm instead of 28mm.

outwards? doesnt that means it curves in at the middle?
