Hello, Am eyeing up a 12400f CPU - are we expecting prices to drop after the 13 series launch, or might it stay the same as I don't think there is an equivalent level 13 series processor coming out this week? Reason I ask is looking to build in the next few weeks.

Hi folks. Luckily managed to get a 4090 this week (whoop.) Can someone spec me a motherboard and DDR4 memory to go with a 12400? I think whatever is the best value I can get at the moment, having spent a fair chunk on a graphics card already!

Did people think the 3090 was future proof at the time? Probably not. 4090 is more expensive yes, but in grand scheme of things i'd argue if you can afford £1399 on a graphics card, you're probably doing ok, so £1699 isn't going to make you homeless on one either. No-one is forcing anyone to buy...

Thanks everyone, i probably made the right decision going with the AW3420DW then. I'm "only" using a 5700XT so will not really be able to play at anything higher than 1440p anyway, and i'm going from a fairly average 24" ASUS 144hz 1080p monitor. I suppose there's always something better and...
