Personally own MSI GE 780, and it works perfectly, there's next to no difference between fans at 50 and 100% so if you want, you can even have it at 100% with next to no noise difference. My ones work slightly hot though, the top one gets to 75C and the bottom one to 70-72C during stress...

Personally own two MSI GE 780, and go no problems with it, was satisfied with the 1st cards performance therefore got a second one. But had horrible luck with 7970 Asus Matrix when I got it. I would say it comes down to the luck of the draw, sometimes you can get a golden card with no problems...

If you installed the GPU correctly yet get no response from it, it might be worth looking into your bios version and checking whether it's up to date.

Stress the card and then check the sensors in either GPU-Z or MSI AB to see the actual clock speeds, had this as well, so if both sensor provide you with the same readings I guess you should trust them (maybe) :D
