The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith,
One of the best films to come out of Australia, it's getting on a bit now, it was released in 1978 but
is still a great film. Written by Thomas Keneally who also wrote "Schindlers Ark".
Enemy Lines on Netflix,
Supposed to be a war film and one thing I can't stand is inaccuracies , John Hannah is supposed to be a WW2 Colonel and he has a fine array of medal ribbons
yet the earliest one he has is 1962, he even has an Iraq war ribbon.
If you can't get the little things right it...
I have mentioned this before on this thread that as a film in it's own right this was ok but a comedy, given the quality of the cast, Noooo !!
OOP's, wrong quote, was talking about the death of stalin.
Bad Times at El Royale,
I hope someone can jog my memory but I remember seeing a film with an identical setup with the mirrors etc. Possibly with Nicholas Cage in it.
I did think it may have been a remake but I don't think so.
Apart from that , a pretty good watch.
Saw this on BBC2 and thought it was brilliant, when it transitions from B&W to colour it is just jaw dropping, really brings it all to life. I don't know if they used lip-readers but the added dialogue was well done too. Nice one Peter Jackson.
Pride and Glory.
Just watched this on Amazon,it had a good ImDB score so I thought why not.
Not disappointed, quality cast and kept me interested all the way through.
Over the last few nights I have watched
Thor,
Thor, The Dark World,
Thor, Ragnarok.
Now these are not my usual type of film but I really enjoyed them but they mention things that may have been in other films.
What movies will fill in the gaps and in what order should i watch them?
I really enjoyed this, not my usual type of movie but I think Sam Rockwell was brilliant, or maybe he is just good at playing a***holes like in the Green Mile. Just a quality film all round.
Geralds Game,
Watched this on Netflix after seeing it in a list of "Dark" films on Netflix and I am glad I did, a cracking film based on a Stephen King story. Well worth watching.
