    So who's ditching 6900 series for 7900?

I have two 6950s, I was thinking of upgrading but if the 7970s are released at the prices expected then I'll stick with what I have, way too expensive!

    6950 TOXIC BF3 Pink Glare

Just like to have the best performance I can get and found that it wasn't quite stable with my overclocks at default voltage, I think I'm only running at around 950MHz core and memory is around 1350 (on air with custom afterburner fan profile).

    6950 TOXIC BF3 Pink Glare

Sounds like overclocked memory, as suggested you could try putting some more volts through it before clocking it down- I run my 6950s @ 1.3v.

    BF3 GTX580 @ 2560 x 1440

2560x1600 here, everything maxed, 6950 crossfire (shaders unlocked and overclocked) 70+ FPS at all times. VRAM usage hovers around 1.4-1.5GB. (3GB crossfired). With medium settings at the greater resolution I don't think you'll have any problems at all.

New Gaming Rig + Screen - Any advice?

+1 to everyone else here, 2500K for gaming, 2600K if you need hyperthreading for CPU intensive applications. Monitor wise, TN panels are generally faster, but suffer from viewing angle issues, IPS panels are generally slower but have far greater viewing angles. Suggest you just read the reviews...

    3x 120Hz Eyefinity Portrait Setup

OP, I'd like to know what is the primary reason you're using Eyefinity in portrait mode? A large screen would get rid of the bezels, so I assume its either the resolution or the 120Hz refresh rate?

    27" for gaming

Maybe....... but the only recent game I've found that won't run in 16:10 was Driver: San Francisco, everything else has catered for 16:10. BTW, I have 3 of the HannsG 27.5" monitors, all good (turn down the brightness), and find the additional vertical resolution great, same with my 30" Dell...

    Crossfire overheating :(

To be fair, your case and cooling should be fine enough to keep your cards cool, as suggested previously, ensure your H50 is pushing air out of the case and ensure your front case fans are bringing air in. What I did with my case was move anything in my front bays to the very bottom of the case...

What's it like to do work on a large screen?

When I got my 30" screen, it took me a lot of getting used to from the previous 22" CRT, however, within a week I adjusted very well and if I went smaller, it would have to be some amazing screen to tempt me back!

calling all dell ultrasharp 30inch 3007wfp/hazro/dellu30i owners

I have a 3008WFP, not sure if it has the same settings as yours, but with mine there are different modes, e.g. movie, game, etc. Although I only use mine for gaming, I have mine set to movies as the game setting gave it a very burred look which sounds like something you're experiencing.

BF3 Dirext X error keeps happening help pls?

Used to have same problem with my Gainward 560 Ti, ended up pushing the voltage up and no more crashes, shouldn't have to really as its not overclocked, but I noticed many people have done the same.

    560ti 1gb vs 2gb

Have a 1GB 560 Ti in my second box, 1920x1080 mostly high settings, around 900MB usage in BF3, hope it helps- I'd suggest the 2GB also, if you can afford the difference. Bare in mind that new 560Ti's are due out soon........

Crossfire help expert 6970 help please :(

Just a guess, but I reckon your CPU is bottlenecking the GPUs, have you tried using 3dMark or similar to see if your graphics get maxed out on the graphics tests?

Sell 6950 CF for 7xxx series?

I think we'd all like to run a single card instead of crossfire/SLI, but if you think about it, you could get a single GTX580- very nice, but surely the possibly of getting almost twice the performance by adding a second is tempting..... even if you do end up getting the latest high end graphics...

little rusty on ATI cards, help please

6950 2GB all the way, can normally overclock to 6970 speeds, and if you get a 2nd hand reference card, you can also unlock the shaders, though they don't add too much to the speed. I have 2 reference 6950s and wouldn't swap them for anything except maybe 2 580s, but they're way too pricey.

    i5 750 vs i5 2500k

I'd say he has a perfectly good cpu in the 750, but if he has the itch to get the 2500K, he may not need it but its an amazing processor.
