    My new monitor is here!

I initially bought a Dell S2716DG for my G-Sync driver. I also own an OLED TV, and the washed out colours and colour shifting were immediately apparent. Within a few months I'd sold it and move to the Acer XB271HU, a 165hz IPS panel, and barring the first panel having terrible BLB, I've been...

    Dell S2716DG alternative?

They're really great, to be honest, I've had one for a month now. Once you get the thing calibrated (very washed out OOB), you will be more than happy.

Dell S2716DG to PG279Q/XB271HU worth it?

Thanks all, looks like I'll stick with my lot.

Dell S2716DG to PG279Q/XB271HU worth it?

I've had the Dell for about 1.75 weeks and while I'm very pleased with the motion clarity and responsiveness, having it beside an IPS monitor recently really opened my eyes to its extreme colour deficiencies, colour shift and lack of contrast (the IPS was MUCH closer to the OLED in that regard)...

    Dell UP2718Q 4K HDR - 384 dimming zones

I use my OLED TV as a monitor almost exclusively, for the better part of a year now too. It has some issues with IR (in cases of extreme colour saturation over contrasting backgrounds) but these resolve themselves in seconds. Absolutely zero problems with burn-in. TN/IPS/VA panels all can...

Nvidia - Best bit depth/colour for UHD TV?

8bit with 4:4:4 is best. Any HDR gaming will force subsampling to YUV 4:2:2/4:2:0, and you will notice dithering and less vibrancy/saturation all round. 10bit and 12bit 4:4:4 are not possible due to the bandwidth limitations of HDMI 2.0a. 2.0b overcomes this limitation but is sadly not...

    Node 304: 980 Ti + Kraken G10?

Hi all, I'm planning to downsize in a big way from a HAF-X to the aforementioned 304. My GPU, a Palit Super Jetstream GTX 980 Ti, is of the unfortunate 2.5 slot variety and likely will not fit. So my options are between: 1) Replace the GPU cooler with a G10 (still a snug fit apparently but a...

** It's Finally Coming! Much Eye Candy! **

Still no ULMB? Come on, lads. Supposedly it's a part of the G-Sync standard.

    Best monitor for 1x 980ti

I'd go with the Dell if you're thinking TN. It'll sting the pocket less than the IPS alternatives and has Dell's usual sterling warranty. From what I hear, the IPS alternative isn't that much better than the TN panels with similar specs, despite having an extra £150-£200 on the price tag. And...

    ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 144hz 2560x1440 IPS G-Sync.

I'm thinking this is the better idea. I've been wary about dipping into these panels after reading the threads, even though it seems a fairly large proportion of customers don't have these issues or simply don't notice them. I imagine Apple and Dell get the "cream of the crop" for their own...

Are there any VA monitors suitable for gaming?

Acer have the Predator Z35 on the way which I'm assuming is the same panel as the BenQ XR3501, 144hz 2560x1080 VA panels both which are tuned for gaming (the Acer has G-Sync). They're a bit on the pricey side and the contrast doesn't seem to be as deep as most other VA panels, however.

The GTX 980 Ti owners thread.

Thanks, probably should have thought to just compare two images. Anyway, can anyone recommend a cooler that would bring it back to within the 2-slot realm?

The GTX 980 Ti owners thread.

I have the Palit 980 Ti Super Jetstream and was wondering if there are any cooling alternatives available? I was hoping to downsize to ITX but apparently this card is simply too monstrous for practically any ITX case (barring something massive like the Core X1). Some outlets claim it sticks...

    Acer XB270HU - Worlds First IPS, 1440p, 144hz, Gsync

They could still be selling monitors like hotcakes and be in poor financial shape. I imagine they haemorrhage money in their notebook and tablet divisions these days.

    Monitor for pure console gaming

"just want good scaling, no ghosting and great image quality." The holy grail, then :p "No ghosting" would require something that supports black frame insertion. You're most likely looking at Sony's W-series TVs (7xx and up, I believe) or the Eizo FG2421, but I'm not 100% sure if the...

    Replacement for the 680 GTX

Well I've gone with an overclocked 980 ti to replace SLI 970s, and for me, that was worth it. SLI isn't as great an option as it may appear, most games still have some issues at launch and you could be waiting weeks until they're resolved. For 1080p gaming, a 970 is very good, but if you're...

Nvidia Showcase: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is Drop Dead Gorgeous in 4K

The game looks like it'll be great, for sure. But I can't help but feel like the pre-release reviews should be taken with a large pinch of salt. Every one of them had some complaints, most frequently with the story and pacing (which is very important in MGS), yet those who were vocal about the...

Mini ITX Cases and 2.5 Slot Coolers

Mini ITX Cases and 2.5 Slot Coolers

Ok, does anyone know what the GPU width restriction on the Evolv ITX is? I also looked around and found that the Air 240 has a GPU height restriction of 120mm. This once again rules out any of the larger coolers, like mine.

Mini ITX Cases and 2.5 Slot Coolers

Hi all, I'm hoping to hop on the mini-ITX bandwagon and go from a HAF X down to an ITX case, but I may have hit a snag. My current GPU is a Palit Super Jetstream 980 ti, which features that oh so prevalent (and unnecessary?) 2.5 slot cooler design. What are my options, case wise? I have...
