No need - I managed to borrow someone elses service tag to check it. Could only apply for an upgrade / extension, so no guarantee you would get one.

Just a thought - if you've got the time I don't suppose you would be able to check to see if you can upgrade your warranty now (as you've already purchased the laptop).
