You can overcrimp in fact just give it a squeeze until it's together. Practice makes perfect. If you have full speed on other connections you made then clearly you can do it correctly.

Re crimp the slower connections.

I'd sort the aerial out,once you have a decent freeview signal you'll have a lot more available to you. Have you tried re-terminating and connections that you can reach easily?

How is your aerial knackered?

Try ordering a phone only package from BT first,maybe that way they will install a copper cable out to you.
