All the ones I've just checked are as you say, looks like they ship from UK but the businesses have Chinese addresses. :/
There's a company called Kaico Labs in Nottingham who are selling one on their own website for £44.99, any issues and you'd probably just have to send it back to them.
I'm...
There are quite a few unofficial GDEMU on ebay from about £45-50, most people seem to have no issues with them. I'd rather pay a bit extra to get the official one but they can be quite hard to get hold of.
There's also something called a "USB-GDROM" from a Russian site, but it's quite expensive...
Nice, I've been meaning to have a look around for old PC parts to see if I could make some sort of retro-rig like that up without having to spend much money.
I found my old Corsair 2x 512MB XS3500 BH5 DDR1 ram that I used to run at crazy low timings, but not sure what else I still have lying...
The only retro thing I've done today was change an old hard drive molex power supply I had lying around in to an Amiga CD32 PSU, simply snipped off the molex plug and soldered on a CD32 compatible connector I got for a few quid on ebay.
I bought the CD32 over a year ago but hadn't even tested...
I modded my Dreamcast yesterday with the DCHDMI kit, installation is similar to the N64 UltraHDMI, just a bit more fiddly (the ribbon cable had more points to solder and may have been smaller pitch). Cutting the hole was more annoying too.
It works fine though and the picture quality is great...
One of my favourite games, in the past couple of months I've played through Zelda 1 + 2, A Link to the Past and currently about a third of the way through Link's Awakening.
I recently installed the UltraHDMI mod in my N64, can't wait to play through Ocarina again once I've finished LA. :)
I...
I like using a Magic Eraser dipped in IPA for scuffs, you get a pack of them pretty cheap, but as mentioned above you need to be careful, especially on textured plastic/printed text.
Also for cleaning, Amberclens foam cleaner is great, and for a nice polished finish I find "Back to Black" works...
I'm looking forward to the inevitable comparison videos of the AT Games Megadrive Mini versus the same game on a SNES Classic hacked to run Megadrive games.
The SNES will probably run them more accurately, no doubt leading to some great old-school console wars in the YouTube comments. :D
Here are some I'm subbed to that I don't think have been mentioned yet:
Game Sack - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCT6LaAC9VckZYJUzutUW3PQ : Been watching a lot of them lately, console and game reviews, informative but in a comedy style and some good parody stuff.
Classic Gaming Quarterly -...
Yeah, I bought Bayou Billy back in the day as it had elements similar to my favourite arcade games at the time, Double Dragon, Road Blasters and Operation Wolf.
It's one of the few NES games I still have and played it again a few months ago, really hard and took ages to get past the first level...
If you go ahead with this and get a 40pin GBA, make sure to get a 40pin Type B cable.
I was getting weird image retention/ghosting issues when playing Gameboy and Gameboy Color games, after a quick search I found I must have been using a Type A cable and had to remove several tiny components...
Cheers! :)
I had to cut my case, but I've seen them for sale pre-modded (Retro Modding in Canada sell them, might be others in UK). I used flush cutters, craft knife and finished off with some sandpaper but just a craft knife should do, there's plenty of videos on YouTube.
The part you're...
I bought the case from Deadpanrobot (and some other bits and pieces, great store), the 101 screens were out of stock, I got that from ebay. Unsure if it's one with the scaling issues but it looks okay (though I can't compare it of course).
Finished the screen mod (40pin), really pleased with...
I'm doing that just now, just waiting on a replacement case.
You can get a good condition GBA for about £20 and the AGS-101 backlit screen + lcd cable for around £35-£40.
You just need to get the right cable type for your console, 32 or 40 pin. The screen sellers often show how to tell them...
Yeah, I binned all 4 Arrowverse shows at the end of the last season, been watching all since the beginning.
Last season I ended up skipping all the fluff "feelings" scenes and just watched the story/action, which slices about 10-15mins off each episode.
I watched them all last year as the 4way...

No matter how messed up or harrowing an episode may be, I always giggle at the end credits. :(
Not a bad episode, better than last week but I hope it gets back to the mystery bush person next week.
