My 7850 does 1100mhz at 1.175v. I think it needs pretty much 1.3v for 1200mhz, not the best overclocker but I'm happy. Memory on the other hand overclocks very well. Gonna post some benchmarks soon. ;)
Sometimes when I oc my card the computer crashes and gives me a hypertransport flood or some kind of error in the bios. I guess that's what happened to you, but the error wasn't recovered correctly.
I have a U2711 (2560x1440) and I'm running it with a 7850 just fine. Indeed, AA is not needed at that res IMO. Just don't except to max out games, but you should be pretty close. For example, BF3 runs great at on high preset at great playable framerate. And don't forget you can always OC the...
Don't worry about it. I thought my card was stable too but it crashed after playing GTA IV for 5 hours. A simple benchmark run is simply not enough to call the overclock stable as most people in this thread did. Oh and btw, my card can't even do 1ghz at stock volts (1.075v) so your card is not...
Yep, I think ASIC is not that important after all. It just has something to do with stock voltage, but really even tho stock voltage are lower then average it doesn't mean the card will OC better.
I came to the conclusion ASIC doesn't really mean anything in term of overcloking. My ASIC quality is 83.6%, which is pretty decent and probably a little above average... but my card overclocks like ****. Currently running 1000/1450 @ 1.075V 24/7 stable, I've tried pushing it to 1100mhz and I...
