Really regret only going for 3 years instead of 5 the last time I renewed, not looking forward to later this year :(

    Used hatchback suggestions

My current car (2009 Peugeot 308) is going in for its MOT next week, however I imagine there may be repairs needed that make it uneconomical to keep running. What would people suggest as a replacement? Looking to ideally spend less than £10K, can't be diesel (city ban and I only drive around 6k...

    Sony Xperia X

I just got mine a few days ago. I was actually pleasantly surprised at the condition as there are almost no scratches on it, you can hardly tell it isn't brand new. I imagine it could be luck of the draw with that though.

What's your work IT equipment like?

At our company office: i5-4690, 32Gb RAM and 256Gb SSD At the client I am currently at: i3-4130T, 8Gb RAM and a slow HDD It can slow development quite a lot at times, mostly just from having such a rubbish boot drive that causes restart times of 30 minutes. It's silly really because higher...

    Worth fixing air conditioning?

Hmm, I had thought about doing it myself but I haven't really done any car repairs before (first car).

    Worth fixing air conditioning?

Whenever a bill comes up that makes it uneconomical to repair probably. Trouble is knowing when that is going to happen I suppose.

    Worth fixing air conditioning?

I suppose it doesn't really. I was thinking in terms of it being a lost cost when it comes to selling compared to a higher value car where buyers would actually pay more for it to be working.

    Worth fixing air conditioning?

The air conditioning on my 2010 Peugeot 308 has stopped working, unfortunately the condenser is leaking so have been quoted £280 to replace it and regas. Two questions: 1) Is that a fair price? 2) Do you consider it to be worth fixing at that cost? It's getting quite warm now so it would be nice...

How much left over per month do you have?

About £1300 a month at the moment, though I've just graduated so perhaps I'm still in frugal student mode- let's see how long I keep it up :D

    Broken heater

Thanks for the responses, just checked the coolant and it's empty (oops). The engine temperature sensor does seem to work but it never gets too hot surprisingly, probably just because it's cold that it hasn't overheated yet :p Needless to say, I will be buying some tomorrow and topping it up...

    Broken heater

The heater on my Peugeot 308 seems to be broken, the fans only blow cold air. Are there any simple and cheap things I can do to fix this or is it a job for a garage?

    Alloy wheel repair kit

Thanks, just bought a repair kit- hopefully the colour will match.

    Alloy wheel repair kit

On two of my wheels there are marks from where I have kerbed them and it's bugging me. Anyone have experience with any decent repair kits that I could do myself? It's not really worth me getting it all done professionally so I don't want to spend huge amounts.

Ebay dispute- DPD screwed up? Need advice

I understand OP doesn't want to be left out of pocket, but the buyer should not be the victim of them trying to save a bit by not getting insurance. The insurance is there to cover the contract between DPD and the seller, not DPD and the buyer. The seller is obliged to deliver the goods as...

    Dashcams!

Yeah, I think I'll try playing around with the position some more to get a better view. Moving it to the left will make it more obvious from outside and mean it'll be visible on the windscreen by the driver which I would like to avoid if possible. I might try mounting it off the mirror instead...

    Dashcams!

I got my Vantrue N1 a few days ago so I've been playing around with it (still need to tidy up the cables a bit more). Annoyingly however the best location for it (so that it is hidden by the rear view mirror from the driver's view) means the dash cam view is partially obscured as shown below...

    Dashcams!

Just bought one of these too, I was looking at getting the Rexing V1 because it is discreet and cheap but that doesn't have a parking mode like the N1.
