so a little update: i ended up going for a 6700xt for 2 reasons 1. after a few tests, fps wasn't really a problem, so the extra 4gb vram was more attractive 2. the biggest reason, i sold my 5700xt for £650, and found an msi gaming 6700xt for the same price, free upgrade!

I only paid £300 for it way back before the shortages, and it's just about to sell for a little over double. The upgrade as a whole will only be ~£100 so I thought I'd make the most of it now while I can.

I have offered that, personally id prefer to give a full refund and receive the card back. I dont think hes tried a different DP cable, but he has tried a HDMI cable (came with the card, i assume it would be a decent quality) and has the same issue as the DP cable.

Depends on the car i suppose, it worked for me. Going from a 1.8 Focus to an RX8 it came down by a third. The RX8 was newer and double the power, same NCB, no claims/convictions but how many do you actually see on the road. Cant hurt to check atleast

Personally I'd say avoid the likes of a fiesta and a corsa and go for an older focus or astra, reasoning being 80% of new young drivers tend to go for these and as such, insurance is usually extortionate. You'll get an older 1.8 focus really cheap, it wont be any faster than a modern fiesta...

I just paid the price to be honest, thought it was pretty reasonable considering the new prices.

Last card i bought was a B Grade Fury Nitro, that was 4 years ago and it's still going strong today. Admittedly its been under water the whole time. Just today i've actually bought an upgrade, and picked up the last 5700XT Pulse they had, again a B Grade. Ill see how this one goes when it arrives.

Yep, however it was a rotary, which isn't really comparable. rotaries are super easy to rebuild compared to a RPE. no cams, timing etc to worry about.

Toyo are pretty decent and reletively cheap, picked up a new stainless one for my RX8 for £180 delivered. Not sure if they make one for the celica though.
