you've missed the point again. They don't need to prove YOU broke the card by changing the pads. All they need to do is notice the card has been opened and modified and that voids the warranty. Simple stuff.

I don't think they would need to prove the pads were what led to the faulty card. The fact they have a disclaimer stating any modification voids the warranty, or some have stickers saying removing said screw voids warranty would sufficiently have them covered. Pretty sure it's the same with...

yeah but you don't understand do you. You aren't going to be changing the thermal pads for him are you? So potentially.. a guy who's never opened up a card before isn't going to make it look perfect.

I would imagine it is pretty easy to tell if the thermal pads have been changed though? So when you send a broken card back they can just identify that and cancel the warranty.

I've not heard of as many people needing to replace thermal pads on 3080ti's as 3090's? although I think more people own the 3090.

Yeah I thought the conversation was quite clearly about gaming. Otherwise people would have brought up the other range of cards made specifically for that line of work.

the 3080ti is basically people who want a 3090 but want to save £300. The people who think they need 24gb of ram are just hilarious. Because by the time a game NEEDS that there will be better cards with 24gb of ram which cost less.

Yeah, the credit industry pretty much runs on people like that. If everyone was somewhat financially savvy you'd like to think there would pretty much not be a credit industry.

Yeah but the issue is, is that credit is generally only good for people who have the money to pay for things in the first place. Like you say, using it for extra protection. A good general rule of thumb is if you can't afford it now, don't get it on finance. It's easy to say just use them...

I agree with you on that. Having worked on collections for a few credit card providers it just makes you realise how credit can go so wrong for so many people. I think if you use it correctly (pay off in full) it's fine, but as soon as people start juggling 0% balance transfers things get messy.

Going to have to disagree with that. I'd never advise anyone to use credit.

Check your actual account settings on 'that site'. It may be that your account settings still have an old address on there. So if the address on the account doesn't match your delivery/payment address I think it auto declines.
