Can anyone spare a couple of minutes to answer some questions on game AI....please?

Awesome, thanks everyone. I'll probably leave the survey up for another couple of days then get to work with the analysis. I'll post a summary of the findings back here. Hopefully I'll also be able to give you all the results of the project as a whole and put the game / demo I use in the...

Can anyone spare a couple of minutes to answer some questions on game AI....please?

Thanks ever so much for your time and responses, guys. I really appreciate it! @Ryan0r - really good of you to give me some feedback, thank you. I did a pilot survey where respondants could select multiple genres but I found it was difficult to draw any meaningful results as I couldn't think...

Can anyone spare a couple of minutes to answer some questions on game AI....please?

Hi guys, I’m considering building a basic game in the near future as part of my Computing Solutions degree. I’m interested in trying to evaluate the impact various AI techniques have on the experience of a player. My idea is to ask users to play a section of the game 3 times, and change the...

** INTRODUCING VERTAGEAR GAMING CHAIRS - OCUK EXCLUSIVE **

I need to replace the wooden torture device I'm sitting on. Really liking the Vertagear chairs, but wondered which would be the best fit? I'm 5'11" and around 12 stone. Leaning towards the SL4000 as it seems to wrap around the shoulders slightly more. But I prefer the look of the 5000...

    Dell S2716DG - Dells first G-sync

I've had both the PG279Q and this. Sent the PG back and don't regret it at all. The XB271HU may be better, but I'm going to wait until many more people have got them until I decide. It's still the same old AU lottery as far as I'm concerned. Even if it is okay when I get it I just don't...

    ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 144hz 2560x1440 IPS G-Sync.

Congrats, it really is a good monitor if you are fortunate enough to get one without issues! For gaming it's unsurpassed in some aspects and for general use the IPS panel makes it so much nicer to use than any TN. I'm in a very similar boat and still contemplating whether I can justify £200...

    ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 144hz 2560x1440 IPS G-Sync.

Happy to see quite a few people on here happy with their PGs. I got an email today from the supplier I bought mine from stating there was no fault with it. This despite enormous (orange) bleed from the screen, incredibly bad uniformity (a white screen had more orange/brown/grey on it than...

    ** TODAY ONLY: DELL 27" G-SYNC ONLY £449 !! **

A superb price on a superb monitor. I'd go as far as saying that this is the best 1440p gaming TN on the market, bar none. For those lamenting over the fact it's a TN panel, I'd suggest you have a look at one if you can as honestly it's very impressive. I had this and the ROG PG279Q together...

Acer Predator XB271HU - upgrade to the XB270HU

I think the fact that Vega was able to land 5 good panels (out of 5!) speaks volumes for the advances Acer have made in terms of QC. This isn't just a lazy firmware change, the whole mounting process is much more advanced. Also, yeah, that set-up is just nuts. Been following your threads at...

    ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 144hz 2560x1440 IPS G-Sync.

    Mine was October 2015.

    ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 144hz 2560x1440 IPS G-Sync.

I get what you're saying. The attention to detail on the monitor seems excellent, and if you get a good one you're laughing. The colours (whilst not perfect compared to high-end graphics panels) are in another league to any TN panel. As importantly, the lack of colour / gamma shift makes...

    **Nvidia G-Sync owners thread**

Glad I came across this thread. I've been running with G-Sync on but V-Sync off in NCP and honestly haven't been too impressed with G-Sync. Every game I've played recently has stutters (The Witcher 3, Path of Exile and Grav) and I've not really noticed any difference compared to my old 144Hz...

Acer Predator XB271HU - upgrade to the XB270HU

The 4k variant is coming on the 14th December...maybe this one will arrive then too?

    ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 144hz 2560x1440 IPS G-Sync.

I'm awaiting a replacement from another retailer but to be honest am going to tell them to just give me a refund instead and wait for the XB271HU. There are so many issues with this monitor honestly I'm amazed they're still available for sale. However, please by mindful that Overclockers do...

The GTX 980 Ti owners thread.

Any reason why you use Afterburner and not Precision? I've got the same card and I'm a bit puzzled with the OC to be honest. It doesn't seem to matter what I try, GPU-Z is telling me that I'm hitting Power and/or VRel limits. AFAIK both power and voltage use the same 'pool' of resources...

Acer Predator XB271HU - upgrade to the XB270HU

Isn't VA considered sub-optimal for gaming due to slow response and greater input lag? Been a while since I looked into it but last I checked the VA panels had slightly worse colour reproduction than IPS whilst also having slower response and more lag. Could well be wrong on that, though...

Acer Predator XB271HU - upgrade to the XB270HU

Come on, give us the release date already! I'm hoping this is the monitor I've been looking for. The Dell is amazing but I need an IPS after experiencing the PG279Q.

    Dell S2716DG - Dells first G-sync

I would say the Dell's build quality and general QC is better than either Asus or Acer currently - possibly excluding the XB271HU as that does seem to show greatly improved QC. There are a couple of bugbears with the overall quality of the Dell (such as the whole screen wobbling whenever you...

    ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 144hz 2560x1440 IPS G-Sync.

I've got a replacement coming in a few days. The supplier agreed to test this one before sending it, let's hope they know what they are looking for! For all its issues I do really want to keep one of these - going back to a TN (even a pretty decent one) and losing that colour reproduction...

    Dell S2716DG - Dells first G-sync

Hold up...how did you manage to use the TFT settings and adjust gamma? That's exactly what I would like to do, but I thought that as soon as you click 'Use Nvidia settings' (to access the gamma slider) you stop using the ICC profile? Is there another program you're using to get around that?
